4.7.1 - Future publishing - 'Immediately' is changed to the actual date/time after an edit

Another observation...didn't see this on Beta 2, just with the newly released 4.7.1 final.

Reproduction steps

1. Create a topic, modify the 'Publish' setting from 'Immediately' to some date in the future of your own choice
2. Edit the topic
3. Modify the 'Publish' setting to 'Immediately'
4. Save the change
5. Edit the topic
6. Expected result
   • The 'Publish' setting should be set to 'Immediately'
7. Actual result
   • The 'Publish' setting is set to the date/time at which the edit in steps 3/4 was performed

This sounds related to your other reports, so have added notes to this effect. That way both can be tested at the same time. Thank you for reporting

This issue has been resolved in the recently released 4.7.3 version. Please upgrade to resolve this. If you are then still experiencing problems, please let us know.

Not 100% working for me.

When creating the post the options for date and time a greyed out but can be edited.

But values are not saved – this needs a second editing of the post.

Could you please confirm you are using the exact steps above? As I am unable to replicate this

Just realized I have not the exact same case:

• New topic created
• Immediately deactivated
• Future publish date entered (options were grey)
• Saved

Result: Future publish date ignored, immediately published.

• Thread edited, again entered future publish date
• Now the date is saved and thread is shown with clock symbol in forum listing

So I performed both of the following and both worked:

1. While creating a new topic, set to immediately publish, then come back and edit in a future publish date. 
2. While creating a new topic, set a future publish date.

Could I confirm that you're on the latest release and have all third party applications/plugins disabled?

Latest release, third party applications/plugins not disabled.

Will check on a clean install and with different browsers.

Wild guess: Can this be related to different date/time display modes?

I think I found the issue: It's the browser, in this case Safari. Everything tested with a clean 4.7.3 install.

• Safari shows the current date greyed out
• Chrome shows placeholder (tt.mm.jjjj) – German placeholder BTW

If I try to enter an incomplete date, Safari doesn't complain but Chrome does.

@Jim M & @Marc Stridgen – Can you try this with Safari?

Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention! I can confirm this should be further reviewed and I have logged an internal bug report for our development team to investigate and address as necessary, in a future maintenance release.
