dutchsnowden Posted January 29, 2022 Posted January 29, 2022 Myself as admin I am trying to send this user a PM: however checking their settings in Admin CP, should work. Messenger is not disabled and no other warning or restrictions are being aplied. What gives? What else I could verify to determine what is wrong here?
Jim M Posted January 29, 2022 Posted January 29, 2022 Have you since resolved this issue? I see that the user has received one more message. It could be the user has disabled their mailbox.
dutchsnowden Posted January 29, 2022 Author Posted January 29, 2022 This is different user. Just found out now. If user disabled mailbox, should I not see this in Admin CP?

If it is enabled, you will see the link to disable it. If it is disabled, you will see a link to enable it. dutchsnowden 1
dutchsnowden Posted January 29, 2022 Author Posted January 29, 2022 @opentype so should be clearly not disabled, judging from the screen caps above, right?

Yes, the messenger has not been disabled, otherwise it would have said: Enable Messenger. But you can log in as that user to double check. Another reason/case that you get that error message when trying to send a pm to someone is if they have placed you on their ignore list and selected the messages option. dutchsnowden Posted January 29, 2022 Author Posted January 29, 2022 They cannot place admins on ignore list. Not sure how to log as THAT user. Is that the only way to check what is going on?

Solution Marc Posted January 31, 2022 Solution Posted January 31, 2022 If you log in as that user, you will see he has you on ignore for messages, which is why you cannot send them private messages on your site. You can remove the ability to ignore members of groups within each group, by changing the "Can be ignored?" setting dutchsnowden 1
