Delete attachment when deleting post?

Would anyone know if their is an option to Delete the attachment along with the topic when deleting a topic, or is there an available plugin?

Attachments are automatically deleted when you delete content. Do note though that by default the content isn't immediately deleted.

The attachments are still showing in ‘my attachments’ long after deletion is there an option for this somewhere I’m missing?

You can look in the ModCP under deleted content to see if the post is still present in a deletion queued state.

Also, if an attachment was reused in another post elsewhere then it won’t be deleted when the original post was deleted because it is still in use.

Both of these have no location to display and the posts have been deleted. 🤔

It's not just them, all my attachments are not being deleted automatically. Is there not an option for this somewhere that im missing that i may of toggled by mistake?

What setting do you have for Delayed delete?

No, the setting is called “Permanently delete content”. 

If content can be restored, for say 30 days, then the attachment need to be kept until then. 

And even if the topic was finally removed, it still wouldn’t automatically delete attachment. There is a different task which deals with orphaned files on a regular basis.

How often would be a regular basis? because the problem persists when things have been permanently deleted.

Again, what are your settings for “permanently delete settings”? It it’s like 1 month, it would be perfectly normal to keep the two files you showed in your screenshot. 

And as mentioned before, if you still have problems with this, open a ticket.

My setting was 1 day. I feel like im talking in circles abit, the content has been permanently deleted with 'No locations to display' I have attachments dating back a month that have been permently deleted too. Perhaps this is a topic for support.
