Perfomance ipb Vs Xenforo 2

For the past three weeks I've been playing with the core of ipb and xenforo 2.
As for me the advantages of ipb are the following:
Excellent default theme and very userfriendly.
More social than xenforo2

Xenforo2,
default theme horrible. Core of the forum a bomb.

But as far as performance is concerned, it seems that ipb requires three times more resources than xenforo2.
It performs a larger number of queries, requires 30% more memory, and processing times are an average 0.6 against 0.1 of xenforo2 per page.

I think ipb should be redesigned from scratch.

Despite this I worked there for three weeks to optimize it,
including the combination of css with the related responsive, (now who does not ask for a responsive forum?), js combined and recall jquery on cdn, emoji instead of the emoticons in images, avatar letter in svg binary data in the database

(data:image/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciIHdpZHRoPSIxNiIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxNiI+PHBhdGggZmlsbD0iIzNjZTU0NiIgZD0iTTAgMGgxNnYxNkgweiIvPjx0ZXh0IHg9IjgiIHk9IjgiIGZpbGw9IiNmZmYiIHRleHQtYW5jaG9yPSJtaWRkbGUiIGR5PSIuM2VtIiBmb250LWZhbWlseT0iQXJpYWwiIGZvbnQtc2l6ZT0iNyI+Q088L3RleHQ+PC9zdmc+)

But maybe it's not worth continuing, better to fix the xenforo frontend, I'm confused.

I've not examined our competitors products for a while, but please keep in mind that Invision Community is a single platform for community building, eCommerce, blogging, gallery albums and more.

If you are concerned with performance, then I recommend you sign up to our Cloud plans. Our cloud infrastructure is highly optimised for Invision Community and you won't have to worry about tweaking InnoDB, CDNs, Redis and PHP. We take care of that for you.

Our resident Speed-feind @Adlago may have suggestions too. He's optimised Invision Community to be faster than a Tie Fighter.

I think you've kind of proven why IPS is better in one statement and as Matt said you get a lot more as a whole than you do with competitors.

My suggestion would be, if you want to compare and contrast, choose a competitor that offers similar options to IPS. Something like vBulletin.

I wouldn't even compare Xenforo in anywhere the same league, in fact I'd probably prefer to run PHPBB over Xenforo.

Considering all the add-ons needed, would be much cheaper.

I still wonder why xenforo needs like 200+ database tables for the core script that are 2/3 times as big as Invision power. Not to mention that even in xenforo 2 they lack core features and their permission system is so confusing.

in the end we stayed on IPB. Great. We have made several customized improvements.
IPB is much better than xenphorus, especially after making our changes.
Still missing a lot of fixes to implement.

As far as I'm concerned, this is beside the point.  Ultimately, the point is: does my website function in a stable way and fast enough so that my client base and/or members can do what they want/need to do?

Thankfully, most people out there who constutute a client or member base don't think like developers.

As for "redesigning IPS from scratch".....?

Indeed. However, we have made several customizations to further optimize. To. Avatar in svg, jquery, awesome, external load, font-size in rem, css accorped. We created a script with regular expressions that optimized everything for us, with just one click

See: https://www.condominioweb.com/forum

Would love to see a user guide by you in Client Lounge that explains all of the performance improvements you made to IPS.  Not every community will be set up like yours, but it might give good ideas to other self-hosted admins.
