I cannot disable modsecurity as it is a requirement for my managed server I pay for. 

I will try the beautifier and report back!

Because it still contains an eval, which mod_security is probably not allowing. The reason for that - in the jsbeautifer, don't include the <script> sections and the comment items...delete them. So turn this:

Information in this topic should be enough for people to implement the code - just requires either mod_security turned off (to allow the eval stuff to run....might/might not work) or to use jsbeautify.org to convert the code (remember...strip the <script></script> tags and the comments) and then can be added to the GlobalTemplate or in to my favourite JS bucket (the Google Analytics tracking code)

I hope people realize that this causes more harm than good. Forbes tried this and it blew up in their faces, especially when their ads served up malware.

If you're blocking people from content you're basically telling your visitors to leave and not giving them their own browsing choices.

Reddit is also taking a stance against sites that block content if users are using an adblocker. You can read about it here: https://www.reddit.com/r/technology/comments/4if65h/mod_announcement_were_considering_banning_all/

It has come to our attention that many websites such as Forbes and Wired are now requiring users to disable ad blockers to view content. Because Forbes requires users to do this and has then served malware to them we see this as a security risk to you our community. There are also sites such as Wall Street Journal that have implemented pay-walls which we were are also considering banning.

We would like all of your thoughts on whether or not we should allow domains such as Forbes here on /r/technology

while they continue to resort to such practices.

My site is 100% supported by ads that I serve through a custom ad management app that I created.  Only ads that are paid for by my vendors and individually approved by my display.  So I guess I'd need to add malware ads in order for this to be true?

My site would not survive without ads.  Since I've implemented this, there has not been even one comment from my members and new people continue to join all the time.

I think this is a terrific addition to my site.

I really would like to have an ad-block blocker myselve - but only for guests, but I see no points having to tell them first to allow me to check if they have ad-block blocker

You can disable ads for all members, it's in the advertising settings I believe.
