Estimated release date for 4.2?

It'll be released when it's released. IPS does not have a timetable for the release of their products. It takes time for them to properly test each new release. Since they haven't released it for beta testing yet, that should tell you something. They haven't even announced that they are working on it. While they most likely are, you need to be patient and wait for them to announce the development of it before asking about it.

The roadmap gives you a good idea.

February and beyond: Begin development on 4.2. The theme of 4.1 was content discovery, the theme for 4.2 will be member engagement. Much like with 4.1, the change list will be kept manageable to we can do a start-to-finish release cycle of less than 4 months.

The plan is to release in less than 4 months from initial development, which was estimated to be February. That would mean a June release or earlier if all goes well, but factor in that post was made in October so they may be behind schedule, and factor in any other delays, like the usability of 4.1 as Lindy posted they are trying to firm up. You can do the math. But it gives you a rough idea. Somewhere between June and late summer, my best guess.

There has been a lot of talk of rapid deployment, so that is a good thing.

  • Management

Beyond an upper management level, all 4.2 plans are halted likely until Mid-Feb to Mid-March. We're not even going to discuss it until we're happy with 4.1 and that's all we're focusing on at the moment.

As soon as we're done with that, we'll begin development of 4.2 - so you're likely 2-3 months out before seeing it on your own site. Don't quote me - rough timeframe only. :)
