Posted October 17, 20159 yr For some reason the block manager is not functioning properly. When I attempt to drag a widget over it just selects text and does nothing. Is there a solution for this?
October 17, 20159 yr Author This is the default theme. Unmolested... Just had the crew here upgrade me from IPB3 to IPS4 and just tried the block manager and it doesn't work.
October 17, 20159 yr Author Ok... Checked with both FireFox and Chrome both do the same thing. Any other suggestions? Using Ubuntu Linux14.04 LTS
October 17, 20159 yr maybe install another temporary theme and check if its same then check on windows thats the only solution if not then submit support ticket
October 17, 20159 yr Author Even went a step farther and tried a second computer still no love. Just selects the text. I guess its time for a support ticket.
October 17, 20159 yr Author Even farther... Fired up my VirtualBox with Windows 7 (Yuck!)... Still same drag and select text...
October 18, 20159 yr Are you using mod_security? We had several tickets, where this issue was caused by mod security. If not, pls try to run the support tools in your acp. If it still doesn't work, submit a ticket.
October 18, 20159 yr Are you creating a new block. I had to scrap all my old 3.x blocks as most didn't work

Just disable the troublesome rule by turning them off one by one until you find the trouble maker. Some protection is better than none. The default ruleset caused all sorts of problems for me.. You could also try the free Comodo ruleset that I already figured out. I disabled 2 rules and a part of another. Php and Joomla for starts. The partial rule I would need to check on if you decide to go this route. since it generates a false positive Not certain what all the disabled PHP rule did, but mod-security just blocked a PHP Injection Attack. I am glad since this is something I prefer to have protection for. I disabled auto updates since it will enable disabled rules. I plan on enabling this one night here or there to get the update when I can watch.
October 18, 20159 yr Author Disable the entire module and still selecting text instead of dragging the module... Going to re-enable the module.
November 10, 20159 yr @Daniel F I'm running CENTMIN with Nginx and mod_security is NOT installed on my system. So, I believe it's something else. http://centminmod.com/
November 11, 20159 yr Please check your folder permissions. Another common issue here is, that the applications folder is set to 777. If this is the case for you, please change it to 755.
November 19, 20159 yr Was this matter resolved? I still am experiencing the same issue running v4.1.3.2. The applications folder permissions is set at 755.
November 19, 20159 yr I had a similar issue a while ago, found it to be a third party issue. Jquery conflict. Disable adsense, and anything else which may include jquery.
