stig olsen
Hi, how do I insert a Vimeo link into my articles from the editor? Best, Stig
Ralf Herrmann
For a link, use the link function, or put the URL on a line with text: https://vimeo.com/channels/unreasonable/129568168 For embedding the video: paste it on a single line and hit return:
stig olsen
Thank you! And what if I want to get rid of the black bars? My videos are without them on Vimeo but when embedded on the site they appear.Stig
Jim M
That is unfortunately the resolution that the item is posted in. Vimeo will resize your video to accordance with the container that it is in.
Ralf Herrmann
Except for the size, there are no customization settings for the default auto-embed feature. If you want full control, you could: a) embed your custom code from Vimeo as HTML. b) install additional CKeditor plugins which provide more control over the embedding settings. c) customize your article template so your embed settings are provided in the template. stig olsen
Thank you! Can you please tell me how I do the html part? If it can be done in the editor. Unfortunately I dont understand code. Best, Stig
stig olsen
And one more thing; I'm doing this sidebyside comparison of movie clips. Any way to make two Vimeo planets start simultaniously when pushing play on one of Them? Or any other good solution for This? Best, Stig

Hi Ralf,I've tried to past the custom code from Vimeo as HTML, but it actually just shows as code, not video. Stig
Ralf Herrmann
You need to active the Source button for your member group and then paste it in source mode.
stig olsen
You need to active the Source button for your member group and then paste it in source mode.I guess you mean to active the "can post HTML" in the aministration group? It doesn't change anything. And in my editor I have the option to "add code", but as I said it doesn't work. Best, Stig
Ralf Herrmann
No, “add code” is for showing code – it won’t be executed. I mean the source button to actually input HTML:
stig olsen
No, “add code” is for showing code – it won’t be executed. I mean the source button to actually input HTML: Ok, I see it now - it was already active. When I paste the vimeo code it doesn't adjust the way that the "link pasting" result does so this is not ideal for me. With the same dimensions the video appear larger. Best, Stig
