I think if the topic preview is officially the mouseover type in 3.2 there should be a member setting for each member to turn it on or off. Or maybe even to select whether it's the old way, new way, or not available. In my own browsing I soemtimes like it, but at the same time I hate how it's forced when I don't always want it getting in my way. I would probably have it off or the current 3.1 way for myself.

I CANNOT agree more!!
Personally I find this mouseover thing a pain in the arse!!! Pardon my french but I REALLY hate that feature and it was MUCH better before. I can't understand why they implemented this.

Pardon my french but I

How funny, we say just like that (Pardon mon French) when saying some offensive in Russia. :)

As about topic preview, these popping out panels really irritate.

The topic preview mouseover thing that is installed here on our forums is just a simple hook.

The feature that will be included bundled with 3.2 will of course have more configuration abilities and be designed to look a bit nicer.

Sounds good, we have some members complaining about it aswell. While others love it, of course it's always subjective, but I really understand how some people can see it as somewhat "intrusive". So probarbly should be some setting to determine whether it should require a click on the preview button or mouseover.

I'd just prefer an inline few hundred characters of the body just below the subject - and a toggle to hide / show. When its hidden then the hover takes over / when its showing no hover affects.
