Graeme S. Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 We had planned on leaving all javascript errors in the final version of IPB3. Excellent news. I would be disappointed if IPB 3.0.0 was perfect! What would people complain about? You need to remember that people need to be able to complain at all times! :D

Management Charles Posted April 15, 2009 Management Posted April 15, 2009 Excellent news. I would be disappointed if IPB 3.0.0 was perfect! What would people complain about? You need to remember that people need to be able to complain at all times! :D Well we thought we would fix the obscure bugs but keep a few ones that impact almost everyone in there just to spice things up a bit.
sparc Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 Would it look any better with rounded corners on the "latest news" box? hard to visualize, but it does look good on the information boxes.

FCB-Mo Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 I remember early on in the development of IPB3 that someone said there was going to be another full functioning skin similar to the Pro skin on 2.x which will ship with IPB3 - is that still going to happen?
Joey_M Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 I'm not going to say why I feel it personally looks better like this, of course done by a pro. I'll just share it, see if anyone likes my minor suggestion. I think rounded corners like previously suggested works well with the colour being changed to light blue. Thumbs up. ~Joey

TCWT Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 Any way to auto resize large attachments to fit the window? Coppermine has this.
bfarber Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 Any way to auto resize large attachments to fit the window? Coppermine has this. We resize attachments down when submitted to thumbnails, and we resize linked images down on display. If you click to view the full image, we assume you want to see the full image (unresized). :)
rct2·com Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 Firefox 2 user here. Not as excited about the new skin as some. For example: The button for adding reputation points is far left, the reputation score is far right. On the main page the 'hooks' panels for Recently Added Topics and Watched Content have horizontal scroll bars. On a 1680*1050 resolution! Ahem. Should I report these as skin bugs in the tracker?
edivad Posted April 21, 2009 Posted April 21, 2009 I would ask.. see that IE don't support the roundend angle, and most of the users use IE, are you thinking to solve this problem?
.Matt. Posted April 21, 2009 Posted April 21, 2009 I thought the newer IE supports it. hmm. Just leave a code that makes it so if they are using an older browser, a thing popups telling them to upgrade, thats what I have on my current site. Well its more like a bar. But same idea.
TrixieTang Posted April 22, 2009 Posted April 22, 2009 I would ask.. see that IE don't support the roundend angle, and most of the users use IE, are you thinking to solve this problem? Where do you get that most users use IE? I thought the newer IE supports it. hmm. It doesn't because IE is way behind, even the newest version. Sorry to all the IE users here, but it's the truth.
Lee Craven Posted April 22, 2009 Posted April 22, 2009 I love the rounded corners, I'm a recently 'ex' internet explorer buff, I never wanted to change, although I agree FF (latest build) is fast, clean and secure, way better IMO - Also for those of you who love IE, download FF and get the Vista Theme, you can't tell the difference.
Lee Craven Posted April 22, 2009 Posted April 22, 2009 Infact here is a picture of my FF using "My Fire Fox" extension and "Personas" extension - Very cool!
bfarber Posted April 22, 2009 Posted April 22, 2009 IE does not support the CSS necessary to draw rounded corners without using images, which I do not believe Rikki plans on implementing. This is just one of those cases where there will be a very minor difference between IE and Firefox. It does not affect usability in any way, so we decided it wasn't worth adding in the stuff necessary to make the edges in IE look identical to Firefox.
IPBSupport.de Posted April 22, 2009 Posted April 22, 2009 ...then change the method to make rounded corners and it workes fine in IE and FF! ;) For example look here :) Anything else (IE and FF in different styles) is unprofessional... Edit: Rigo is a FF-User :D
Alex Posted April 22, 2009 Posted April 22, 2009 Why do that? This is simply one of those cases where Internet Explorer is being a complete ass again. Firefox, Chrome, Safari, Opera and probably others all support rounded corners, I don't get why IE doesn't. Come on IE, give in for IE9 and use webkit!
IPBSupport.de Posted April 22, 2009 Posted April 22, 2009 Why do that? Are you kidding me? :o See my post above. Two different styles (IE and FF) = unprofessional. This is simply one of those cases where Internet Explorer is being a complete ass again. Yes, thats right... (IE is not my friend :D ) But a (professional) company like IPS cant ignore the problem and should do everything possible - because there is a way to fix it (without images, only with css). ;)

To be honest, it really isn't. Secondly, this is technically Invisions default skin, so you can obviously get your own skin with rounded corners through images. :)
FCB-Mo Posted April 22, 2009 Posted April 22, 2009 If it bothers you then just remove the rounded corners. That's what I plan to do despite the fact I really like the rounded corners because like you I want my forum to look the same on all browsers. That said, you can understand why IPS have done what they have done because IE makes it difficult to have rounded corners.
