^^MeX^^ Posted August 24, 2008 Posted August 24, 2008 Alright, i dont know why, but why is the site slow at times? Its quite anouying... (I checked if it was my internet, its not...) :P
Brian Garcia Posted August 24, 2008 Posted August 24, 2008 Does it happen only around this time? For me the site always seems very slow around this time of night.
.Matt. Posted August 24, 2008 Posted August 24, 2008 I agree with BGarcia, it does seem slow mostly around this time. But I get by.
newman445 Posted August 24, 2008 Posted August 24, 2008 IT's bcz ipb 2.3 is bulky as hell and need's a dedi server to run. therefore, it's ovb gonna be slow ipb 1.3 is te best
^^MeX^^ Posted August 24, 2008 Posted August 24, 2008 Yea, only around this time, :P @ newman, that may be true, but who cares? And IPB 1.3 was the best. This is better.

Malefickus Posted August 24, 2008 Posted August 24, 2008 I browse the site at any time of the day, and don't really notice a difference. Of course, my laptop is connected to my phone which is usually connected through EDGE service (rarely in a 3G city), so I may not be noticing because of that. Having said that, the site typically loads really fast for me considering my connection. No problem noticed here.
Mark H. Posted August 24, 2008 Posted August 24, 2008 I'm wondering if the server is being backed up during this time period? It's slow for me as well, but only at that time of day.
.Matt. Posted August 24, 2008 Posted August 24, 2008 I have not really noticed it going slow :) Then you don't have fast enough internet to notice anything is going slow ;) Truth hurts.
Cybertimber2009 Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 Huh... CPU load used to not show here... it shows now. Wonder if it was a upgrade? (at least, I thought it had been showing -- for the past while.)
bfarber Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 Topic was posted at 1:25 AM. Yes, our servers do backups in the middle of the night. You're likely to experience some slowdowns between 12 AM and 3 AM (roughly, I don't know when backups are set for exactly) as the server does it's daily backup. It's the best time of day to do it, and unfortunately it's a necessary evil in the technology world. ;)
FrostedPopTart Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 The IPS site goes slow for me sometimes after 10pm PDT / PST. Takes ages to load a simple index page.
