I would like to see the personal profile done like the blog with movable contents blocks and a plugin system with optional content blocks that a user can pick as well the custom themes. This would be totally ace IMO - This would certainly give that social network feel without really converting the board to a social network if you understand what I mean? When I say movable contents blocks I mean left and right column content and the member the option to choose whats visible and custom per the content block manager settings. many times, we are asked by friends who are beginners on a board: why dont you have me in your friend list, even if they are there... the reason is that that list on the right, at a profile, shows random the names... I wonder if is not possible that, when someone enter in a profile of an user who has added him as a friend, he can see his name written in first place, in that list....I means: lets randomize only the rest of the list and first friend be always the visitor, if he is in that list. it would be nice...

Moderating team

We need a better moderating team list. We should be able to create Categories under it, like how it has default of admin, super moderator and moderator, and like how we assign groups forum permission masks, we should be able to assign what group they are showed as in the view forum leaders. For example, if I make someone arcade staff, and give them access to the arcade in the administration, I want them to appear as "arcade staff" under the moderating team, not as an administrator which it currently displays them as.

Attachment upload Java script alert - when you forget to click upload and hit post new topic, you get a java script alert saying click ok to continue without uploading the pic, if its the other way around that clicking - post new topic will upload the pic also. Like gmail.

There are some important and interesting topics that the admin might want to emaill all members about. If there is an option in moderator options like after posting pin it, close it , Email to all Members it would be good. You wont have to compose a bulk mail each time.

Trash Can

No clue if anyone has suggested this, but wow the trash feature needs to be improved. I just deleted a post and it went to the trash forum. I then was going to restore it... only to find out you can't restore it because it was changed into a topic in the trash forum and a topic with 1 post can't be restored back into another topic. So I had to delete another post, merge the 2 trash topics, then move back the one I wanted back and keep one in the trash forum! So long story short, there needs to be a way to restore posts without this happening. I could have merged some other trash topics I guess and moved it that way, but either way, it requires merging to even move…

Moderation Suggestion for 3.0

We coded an extra moderation option into our version of IPB 2.3 which was a simple change but allowed the following: We wanted members to be able to have their posts appear immediately on the forum for all to see but the moderation team would still be able to moderate these items. Therefore we added a new database field called 'moderated' to ibf_posts. When a post was made/edited by a non-admin/moderator then this flag would be set to 0, otherwise set to 1. Then the topics/post page would look at this flag and if it was 0 then those posts would have a coloured background only shown to admin/moderators. Hey. What are the known Problems with converting from IPB (lastest) to VB (latest)? I just want to know if it will cause any problems. One issue i know heard that the passwords dont work anymore and you have to reset them for every single member? Is that true?

We also need a more flexible warn system. Features to add. There are violations set by the admins, which come with a specific warn value. The admin can set how long till the a warn expires, if there are more sever warn for multiple violations, and if moderators can decide to reduce, or increase the infraction point amount, or just have it be a warning, which still sends the PM and logs it, but does not raise infraction level. Admins can set what happens after so many infractions, and can set auto bans. I mean honestly, moderators only being able to raise or reduce the warn by 1 point, and need to change it does not make since. Also, mods should not be able to lower …

I think its obvious in 3.0 a majority of us want a better moderator system without having to get a mod and install it, there are things that we think should be there by default. I thought I'd make a topic for people to suggest their wants for this. I dunno if it is just me that thinks this.. (probably :lol: ) but the issue tab, I do not like the name.. to me it signifies a tab that suggests the member has "issues" (personal ones) I just don't associate it with the bug tracker :lol: :( It has been bugging (no pun intended) me for a while now

I think quite a few of us would be really appreciative to get another option in adding a usergroup option that says: Show pip always? Or something similar so that it shows secondary pips in posts by default without a mod. It would help for those of us that we like to add a group to users because they donate or are a special member in some way.

I tried to install a mod that was available for this but it did not work :( I am currently using 2.1.7, and have 2.3.5 as a test board, just playing with it. It would be nice to have an option to have a new topic posted in a forum when a new calendar event is posted. End Users can then subscribe to that forum to be notified of new events from the calendar.

Warning System Suggestion

If anything I would love to see better integration of the warning system/moderator options. I've seen people suggest the neutral warning, which would be nice, but what I REALLY would find more handy is to stop being re-directed to the forums if I alter someones warning level in both the Gallery and the Blogs. Where are the options: * Return to comment/image * Return to this member's Blog/comment And the option in said Blogs to make a warn adjustment on the entry itself and not only the comments? Or even better, allow for easy options to make someone a moderator in Blogs or Gallery without having to give them global permissions on the forums?

Hi, I need additional functionality which allows us to place one topic in two ore more forums. In my opinion it's a big change that affects forum presentation, search engine, and topic management. I'm planning to add an external linking table (topic_id, forum_id). I'm affraid the only way is to modify your sources without possiblity of future upgrades. Can you help me to analyse this solution? I would be thankful for any tips.

I was thinking about this since I run polls constantly but I close them after a week more then most and I would like to have a way to sort them differently after the poll is closed. If I have a lot of options or I have images as options it makes it hard to filter through to find the one that was chosen with the most votes so it would be nice that after you close the poll you can have the choice to display the order in ASC or DESC order of most votes to least or when the member has voted and is viewing the results it shows it in that order. Still Think it would be great to have the ability to hide results and not allow the results to be shown until vote or poll close.
