Personal Profile

I would like to see the personal profile done like the blog with movable contents blocks and a plugin system with optional content blocks that a user can pick as well the custom themes. This would be totally ace IMO - This would certainly give that social network feel without really converting the board to a social network if you understand what I mean? When I say movable contents blocks I mean left and right column content and the member the option to choose whats visible and custom per the content block manager settings. However, I think there should be something in place for admin to view the base information even if it's hidden from member to member though.

As for themes same principle, we can provide them with pre-themes or they can submit a css theme for admin approval... I'm sure by then the blog system method will be greatly impproved upon so how about we try it out?

I'm personally against this feature request because then it kills one of our biggest mods (China, seeing your staff at IM I think you may know what I mean), which happens to be what AH Modding is about nowadays. I already spoke to Brandon about my concerns :-)

I wouldn't go against drag and drop, but profile themes and other stuff that our mod is capable of, I wouldn't be that happy then.

The reason the mod is so popular is because it is a well-wanted feature ;)
IPS should add the features popular mods provide because the features they provide are obviously popular, not keep them out for the sake of allowing a mod to continue to exist.

I was planning BBQ next week with Brandon...Why did you have to put his name in it? :P That's part of the business man... You will have to come up with something more clever sorry. A mod or so of Mikes has been implemented in the past (validation in acp, gallery and blog links in topic view I think) and one or two projected for the 3.0... It's all part of the territory. When majority asks for something to be default, I think IPS main concern is customers even though I'm sure I'm not the first to bring this up even before you created a mod similar. Don't get me wrong, it is nothing against you, I'm just voting for what others have suggested too. ;) But think of the good side of it... Not everyone will be upgrading to 3.0 right away or even at all due to reasons unknown, so you will still have 2.3.x customers and maybe more as a lot of peoples servers don't support php5+ which is a 3.0 requirement...So don't fret my friend

i'm not so sure about movable content blocks because they tried it in nexus and tried to be fancy and messed the whole thing up, in fact still waiting for them to fix it...

I can't quote Nexus but it has successfully worked in IP.Blog for years which is a forum addon and Nexus is a completely different software and runs stand alone with no affiliation to the IP.Board.

cjvj created an entire friends network modification only for the same features to come out in IP.Board 2.2, when IPS adds these features themselves it only makes it easier for everyone especially those who hate or have no clue on how to do file edits, and so on.
