Yes, it's that time of the week where I spend 20-30 minutes of my life thinking of a terrible pun on a number. Our weekly beta release is here! We have a bunch of fixes for you, along with a tidy up of the new tag page and an update to the editor drop down menus to make it clearer what everything does and to make it a bit better on mobile. After updating to beta 8, there is a decrease in performance. What I mean is: - on December 5, PSI made a useful adjustment to its test platform, which eliminated the large TBT times. Dec 5, 2024 The CPU throttling factor for PageSpeed Insights has been adjusted to account for the low CPU performance benchmarks typical in PageSpeed Insights production environments. In general, this should result in increased lab data TBT scores for sites on mobile. Field data and desktop scores should not be affected. Unsure if this is an issue on my side but just cant seem to figure it out- Upon using the theme editor everything works up until you save. I've went ahead and tried re-installing, clearing system cache and changing file perms but nothing seems to prevail. Honestly I'm quite lost on what's going on. There are absolutely zero errors anywhere to be found which has made it hard for me to self-diagnose this issue. Let me know if I'm maybe doing something wrong!

I created and added two "page" categories to the site menu with different page names. In the first page, I added the WYSIWYG Editor widget, inserted some text, saved it, and the text was successfully saved and displayed. Then I switched the menu to the other category and returned to the first page, but the text was gone. I tried several times to add the text I needed, but it kept disappearing. In the end, I decided to delete this page in the admin panel and create a new one with the same name. Now, there's an error. Invision Community v5.0.0 Beta 8

Hello, in Version 4 User could choose which Forum Index to use. What is with Version 5. Can other users choose Table, Grid, Fluid or Feed Forum Index? Because somebody sent me a private message and told that he did not like Grid Option.

Hello everyone, In preparation for an upgrade to v5, I am currently playing with my test environment. Now I have the problem that I get the error message “EX0” after logging in to the AdminPanel or when I want to call up topics in the forum (only as a user, as a guest I can read EVERYTHING in the forum). Even the test environment has already been moved to another server to see if there could be problems with the environment... I don't see any error messages in the log or in the developer console of the browser. All file permissions are correct, I have even deleted all old v4 files with the exception of the upload folder... I have turned off the 'post topic' option, which I had previously enabled. But I was not happy with the result because it quoted the entire article instead of the first few lines, so I turned that option off. Now every time I publish an article it is also published on the forum. Any solution? I have also pressed the Clear System Caches button.

Finally having a play with the Beta, seeing what my site can look like. I have a question. The forum icons, is there any way to have a separate icon for dark mode? Our default icon that we use for all forums is black and that can't be seen in dark mode.

In Invision Community 5 there is a deprecation hint. Multiple file storage locations will be deprecated in a future release. It is recommended that you start consolidating files to a central location. Currently, I have all in uploads but my files from Downloads. This directory is outside webroot. What does this hint exactly mean? Only, that the multiple options Advertisements, Attachments, Badges etc. are moved to one directory or does it mean that the files from Downloads have to be moved as well? This is currently not in your deprecation tracker.

When I set the forums for grid and upload a cover photo for each forum, they get uploaded to the uploads directory on the server but never appear in the forums Sorry just realized this is the incorrect forum to post in, could someone please move (Version 5.0 Beta 😎

Hello, So I wanted to go ahead and begin upgrading my Community to Version 5 to try out the new features. I'm Self Hosted and uploaded all the Files via FTP and went to /Admin/Upgrade but it just says I have nothing to upgrade to and shows Invision Community 4 Upgrader. What am I doing wrong? Thanks!

When entering the forum, the text goes beyond the frame When translating the text, it says it's saved, but after refreshing the page, it goes back to its original place. After refreshing the page, the forum cache also updated.

I appreciate the various layout options and the inclusion of more images in the 5.x widgets, but it seems the new widgets don’t use thumbnails even if they are available. Example: Here is a Record Feed widget which shows the images in a size of just 30×30 pixels, yet it loads the full size record images, which might be 5000 pixels wide each. 😱 Please add a condition to use the thumbnail when available.

Hello, previously, on older versions of ips, I simply added code to profile.php to provide data about game characters belonging to a given account on the forum. Then I displayed them in the profileactivity template. I have a question about the IPS 5 beta. How should I display the characters? How to pass data to profile activity or how to edit it?
