Beta 11 is here. Why do we have Beta 11 out so soon you may ask? Well, there's a few reasons; the first being that this contains a few fairly big changes to the location of app specific static files, and uses the Monaco editor for code boxes as the TipTap code editor didn't handle syntax highlighting on very large files very well. Oh, and also because we're upgrading this forum to v5 on Monday, so we wanted some extra testing ahead of that. Loving the progress made on the V5 Beta, guys! I'm having a lot of fun with it, my plan is to look at what the first version looks like and maybe test some upgrades on a staging site before deploying the live site upgrade in the Summer (I'm guessing V5 will be out by the Summer... right? :D) Anyway, this isn't really a bug but more of a small suggestion based on my random fiddling around with widgets and whatnot. I've noticed that the Tag Widget block asks you to set a specific number of items in the Options dropdown. I currently have it set to list 8 items, which looks great on desktop on a certain size... but when I draw down the browser window you end up with a ga…

I am trying to clone my site to my test install, but I use S3 for file storage. I realize if I upgrade the test install it will change files on S3 as well. Can someone help me think of a workflow to get a test site created so I can do a dry run upgrade to IPS5?

I noticed somewhere someone said the images were not showing on their board. I found a work around for those who want to use it: Open the Theme editor (Click on your name at the top right of the screen) Then Click on the Custom CSS icon </> and add this code: .ipsUserPhoto--fluid { display: block !important; visibility: visible !important; opacity: 1 !important; width: auto !important; height: auto !important; max-width: 100% !important; max-height: 100% !important; position: relative !important; } That will turn: back into:

Beta 10 is finally here Yes, we battled bravely through snow, ice, mince pies, festive men in red suits, New Year celebrations and a last minute issue with our build system yesterday to bring you Beta 10. All the fixes are in the release notes as usual. We do not expect many betas until the final release now. The feature set is locked, so we'll just be triaging bug reports a bit more to essential things. I'll aim to run through the bug tracker to close out fixed bugs. Let me know how you get on.

Hello there, I have some Error Maintenance Tasks Not Running Routine maintenance tasks are performed as users access the site but it looks like the traffic to your community is not sufficient to run these tasks on time. This will cause significant damage to your community if not resolved. It is recommended that you set up a cron or a web service so that these tasks can be run even when there isn't any traffic coming to your community.

According to Google: As of November 3, 2024, Threads had over 275 million monthly active users. As of November 19, 2024, Bluesky had over 20 million users. No Threads? I'm not arguing about why it isn't listed; I'm just a bit surprised. I try not to show bias to social networks. Some of my community urged me to drop Twitter after it became X and more so when people took up Blue Sky. I don't mind Threads personally, it's not for everyone and I do prefer Blue Sky, but it would be good to see Threads listed here.

Hi, I want to update to v5 beta on a backup of my website. I add \define( 'USE_DEVELOPMENT_BUILDS', true ); to the constant.php file, but the beta is not showing in the ACP. How do I update my website copy?

Hello everyone! I have a problem on V5 with a French language xml file Import successful, the only problem is when I want to access a topic I get an error 500. On the other hand, when I deactivate the rewriting of URLs in the administration, the bug disappears! Clarification: this bug is only for administrators and moderators, members have no problem.

Bug: This item cannot be moved here. If you select a menu item and try to place it under and item which cannot have a sub-menu, there is a message stating that 'this item cannot be moved here'. If you then drag and drop to place the menu item else where, you get the same message regardless of whether you can place it there or not. Submenu's I don't know if this was done by design or not, but not being able to place submenu(s) under certain items (menus that are applications etc) as is a big annoyance when trying to build your own menu. Can you please allow submenus under any item, up until your sub-menu limit (which looks to be three?), please?

the upgrade from IPS 4.7.19 to 5.0 beta 10 hangs at the beginning of the process and generates an error message. I have just upgraded my dev site from 4.7.19 to the latest beta of v5. I have this message: " This license key has already been activated. Your license key entitles you to one installation only. If you need to change the URL associated with your license, contact technical support." Nothing has changed, it's the same URL listed in my client area but I still can't get it to be accepted.

It started on Beta4... if I edit a file, the category thumb is gone. On Beta5, they vanished. The only thing I did differently than usual, was to run the tool to rebuild support topics. That's what I got now: The image files exist and they are there on file view. Example: URL: https://www.sosinvision.com.br/index.php?/category/24-free-applications/

I have checked that the table core_theme_editor_settings exists. ✅ I have ran the recovery mode to ensure the v5 theme is correct. ✅ /sitefolder/ and /domain/ has been changed by me. My site details are correct.

Looking through the online status code, I see that V5 has a build in online status for the forum post but the feature is disabled by default. This is a cool feature, I'm wondering why it was hidden with CSS? It can be activated with this CSS code. /* Author Online Status */ .ipsEntry__author-online { display: block; }

Unsure if this is an issue on my side but just cant seem to figure it out- Upon using the theme editor everything works up until you save. I've went ahead and tried re-installing, clearing system cache and changing file perms but nothing seems to prevail. Honestly I'm quite lost on what's going on. There are absolutely zero errors anywhere to be found which has made it hard for me to self-diagnose this issue. Let me know if I'm maybe doing something wrong!

In IC4, we have a maximum limit for attachment transfers of just under 2GB, which is due to the range of the table storing the file size. What is the actual maximum limit for file transfers in IC5?

Beta 9 is here, and there's a little addition to the editor! Along with the usual weekly round up of bug fixes, we've added a basic implementation of tables in the editor. We're testing this out to see how it goes before we build on it, but you should be able to add rows and columns and do all the usual table-y things. Let us know what you think!

Description of the Bug: The Word Expansion feature in Invision Board Community v5 Beta 10 exhibits incorrect matching behavior when multiple word expansions share similar prefixes. The issue arises when word expansions such as: PCI PCIe PCI-DSS PCI-X are added to the Word Expansion list. The system does not differentiate between these variations correctly and applies expansions incorrectly when terms with similar prefixes are used in posts or comments.
