As was pointed out we don't think they're directly copying us :) I'm sure they are reacting to IPB3 but that is just common business sense to do so.

Of course vB's people (some more than others) will, after vB4, declare that they invented everything and we copied them  but again that's just the nature of the world.

Going to lock this so it does not turn evil.

Was just making a point. Why couldnt vb come out with something that didnt look like this board....thats all

Personally, I think IPB3 looks better then what they have going for themselves.

We were listening but looks like you weren't ;)

There are 3 different solutions on this page of the topic and you've just seen them?

You read my post right? The hooks will do that same thing plus more and doesn't require any edits. Also, that link was posted on the previous page. But yeah, glad you got a solution. :)

You guys remember there's a reputation feature in IPB3 that allows you to do a +1 built in right...?

Here's my first round of suggestions :)

1 - It would be nice if the "Add Another Choice" button with Polls would add the text box below the box my cursor is currently in (and renumber the options accordingly). Right now if I want to go back and add an option I have to cut/paste to reorder each option below it.

2 - If you're feeling adventurous you could also add a few small buttons to the poll form like "A-Z", "Z-A" that will automatically sort the poll options alphabetically. This is good to use if the poll maker doesn't want to come off as biased (adding options they like first)

3 - Add a "Force Uninstall" option for applications. Basically the same thing as the uninstall routine but it catches/suppresses any errors. Good if the admin tried to manually uninstall an application or something went wrong in the uninstall and left the install partially in tact.

Great release by the way, I'm loving it :D

I have written a hook for it. Adds "My Latest Posts" link to the user menu. Just import the XML file attached to this post.

    Enjoy :)

I would love to tell you, I really would, but some people take release date estimates far too seriously and will go crazy if we miss an estimated date.

It should be both a matter of days and weeks. I mean, if it was 8 weeks, that's 56 days. So either way you'd be right. :)

There are no plans to charge for subscription manager separately at this time. We are intending to release it as a community project once we've got it updated and running with IPB3 properly.

Regarding the subscriptions manager. I'd like to point out that all of us at IPS take it very seriously and no one here wants to see it neglected. We realise that many of you monitize your forums using the SM so we have no plans to remove it or make it a poor cousin.

    Our immediate plans are:

    - Refactor the subscriptions manager from 2.3.6 to 3.0.0 [Done]
    - Tidy up the ACP interface [Done]
    - Fix reported issues with expiring subscriptions, upgrades and PayPal [Done]
    - Write hooks and add settings [To Do]
    - Release to QA [To Do]
    - Release Beta / RC [To Do]

I spent most of last week and identified and fixed several issues. Most of which can be back-ported to 2.3.6. More details to follow.

Please read the announcements in full. We publicly stated there *would* be bugs in the RC releases and you should only upgrade if you felt you could handle the bugs until they were fixed (by/in the final release). We release betas (and release candidates) for a reason. It's to find and fix issues that we did not come across ourselves. With so many people using the software in so many different configurations there are always bound to be issues we simply didn't encounter, and that's why pre-final releases are done.

Long story short, we're not going to rush RC2 because RC1 has some bugs. Nor will we rush final because RC2 WILL HAVE BUGS. We're going to continue working to make the software as stable as possible so that the final release is as bug free as we can get it.

I've not noticed any difference in speed whatsoever (all versions of IP.Board 3.0 installed on these boards), all appears fine to me.

Could be browser specific though, I use Chrome which is uber-fast.
