  1. If any third party developers can create a plugin/app that does these, I'd be your first customer! I still think it should be included in the Commerce app by default, but I don't expect this to be done anytime soon if considered. We're working on releasing a user-to-user marketplace and the current state of Account Credit is a little too basic and we need more fund security for buyers and sellers. Tagging some that I purchase the most from: @Makoto @Adriano Faria @Fosters
  2. Here are a few suggestions for the Account Credit feature in Commerce. Limit how many withdrawals someone can make per day/week/month. Set a "pending" period for withdrawing recent commissions. (ex: If you set a pending period for 3 days, any money/account credit a member has received in the previous 72 hours from withdrawal date cannot be withdrawn.) Only show the currency the member has selected. Having a long list of 0.00 currencies that a member doesn't use and will probably never receive creates unnecessary clutter.
  3. I wanted to provide some feedback for anyone interested in Wasabi since we've been using it for two billing cycles now. In the beginning I was afraid of the switch because hearing something is not directly supported by Invision with a built-in feature specifically for it is a bit scary. Before my community switched to self-hosting with this software in 2017, all of my experience was using hosting websites that did most of the work for you, and I was like a fish out of water learning everything about web development on the fly. I'm not going to lie and say this was easy as pie to set up for me because I did experience some issues that were not applicable at the time the guide was written, however, it is not hard either and I was able to solve things with quick troubleshooting in Wasabi documentation. I have a large community, so it took about 3-4 days for the switch to be fully complete working overtime, and we did have some content loss. I'm still not sure what went wrong, but the attachment folders did not transfer over correctly and a good majority of them were shot into the void somewhere. It took us about a month to get most important things updated with new attachments, but we still occasionally find ourselves coming across a page or article that has some broken ones. This is not an issue with Wasabi, this is an issue with either Invision or human error during the transfer. Regardless, I would do it all over again anyway, because this not only works the same as if you had S3 with Amazon, the amount of money we have saved is so drastic that it's hard to believe Wasabi is capable of providing this service at such a low cost. The pricing is as advertised at 5.99 per TB of storage. There are no hidden or surprise fees at the end of the month and so far our bills have never been over $18. (We store everything except theme based resources on Wasabi.) The cost breakdown in your control panel is very easy to understand what you're being charged for and what is free. The same storage for us on Amazon cost roughly $5-7 a day, sometimes more depending on how many requests came in. The requests are really what dig a hole in your pocket. We are an art based website, so we were being charged out the hoo-hah for everything no matter where we tried looking for storage, and keeping it on our main server was completely out of the question. We did experience service failure once a few days ago where requests to pull images from Wasabi were being met with time-out and write permission errors, but I also am aware that Wasabi is growing quite fast right now due to word of mouth and they are trying their best to increase their resources to keep up with the growth. I'm not worried about having to potentially switch again anytime in the foreseeable future. We are an established community with a steady income, so I can only imagine how helpful this would be to small communities ran by hobbiest leaders out-of-pocket if you get to a point where you outgrow your server resources. I imagine that 5.99/m price is what a lot of people will only end up paying for a while.
  4. Never mind on this. I’ll wait til the next update before purchasing and see how things work first hand before making more suggestions.
  5. @Fosters Hello, I started receiving this error yesterday. There's a typo in the word Notifications in the first line. I'm using 1.3.0
  6. I support this. We can't use the "NOT" reverse condition on any type of rule set even though it would help us automate a handful of things. We've been dealing with this issue since 4.3. The minute we turn it on, regardless of condition, it triggers all rules to activate for both members and guests the minute they visit our site, even if the rules are not set to trigger or are applicable to the member/guest.
  7. I'm glad I read this because I was just about to buy. The infinite scrolling is something our site has needed for a long time, however, we run an art site and our images can vary from tiny 40x40 pixel artwork to large 3000px+ wallpapers. If you ever update it to work nicely with all image sizes, I'd be interested.

    Ignore Improvements

With every change comes possible issues, I completely agree with that sentiment, but I don't think fearing hypotheticals should be the only strategy to approach this. IPS is indeed a community software, but not everyone uses it in the same way. What's true for one person is untrue for the next. Forums themselves aren't even included in the core package, it's an add-on. In my particular case, all important information is provided via the pages system, something that is not effected in anyway by the current ignore system or any suggestions for it. We do not allow content within our forums that would make your theory applicable for us, and I am sure it goes the same for more clients.

    Ignore Improvements

No, it's not the same. You ignore someone "in real life" and they know you're ignoring them because.. well.. you're ignoring them. The ignore feature on Invision does not have the same effect. It feels more of a consequence for the person doing the ignoring when it should be the other way around. It has zero benefit to those who want to truly ignore someone and never have to deal with them again, and it's why my community just stopped wasting their time trying to use it. Those who didn't want to be associated with certain people and had no option to prevent them from constantly being in their online business have decreased their activity on the site because, like a broken record, the ignore feature bares no consequence on the user who is exhibiting behavior another member disagrees with when it should in some capacity. They should be aware that they can no longer associate with a user when they attempt to access anything associated to that user, and maybe reflect on why it happened in the meantime. We can have these improvements on the same ignore system in place without having to argue semantics on what to actually call it or compare it to. There's no way that truncating a few posts behind a basic warning is the best Invision can do to give members more power over their accounts and their experiences.

    Ignore Improvements

If there are no plans to make changes to the Ignore features in 4.5, is this something you could whip up and put in the marketplace for purchase? Or is this not something that can be fixed by us?
  11. I think the ignore feature needs a few more features to be useful. Right now it really serves no purpose other than to make members angry/upset when they try to use it and find out it doesn't really serve a purpose. Most sites give you the ability to actually block someone, preventing them from seeing your content or your account. My members have been begging me for improvements to this feature or to implement a true blocking system, but it's odd to me that previous people who have requested this are never responded to, or are basically told just use the ignore feature as is and act like an adult about it. The internet if filled with millions of people of all ages, and just because someone is an adult doesn't mean they'll act like one. I don't think it's unreasonable to provide a little more in terms of someone feeling more secure about their privacy. User A ignores User B, so all applicable content by User B is now hidden to User A, and User B is unable to send private messages to User A. However, User B doesn't know they are being ignored by User A and has no restrictions given to them. The ignore system works basically as if User A is the one being blocked from User B's content which seems backwards. User B should be aware they are blocked and have the consequence of User A basically not existing to them in any capacity. My members are requesting these common blocking features: A blocked/ignored user cannot see the content of the blocker. A blocked/ignored user cannot view the account profile of the blocker. A blocked/ignored user cannot tag/mention the blocker in any content. If there is a plugin or app that already implements these improvements, please direct me to it. If not, I can assure anyone who creates one will receive immediate downloads/sales.
  12. @SoftwareFactory I keep getting a rate-limit error from discord which is blocking API access, aka the app is not able to function. I was sent to this page via the error, but I can't comprehend the information. https://discordapp.com/developers/docs/topics/rate-limits Here is the error log: Response Content Request Headers Backtrace
  13. @Andy Millne Couple Questions/Suggestions 1) It was suggested a while ago for the option to allow anonymous entries. Is this something on the list or are you not interested? 2) Is there a way for us to add custom fields to the entry submission form? If not, I'd like to suggest that as well for the purpose of requesting credit for all resources used in the entries when applicable.
  14. They added a US-East 2 datacenter and you can no longer use the first one. Does this remain the same? Please ignore, I figured it out. Everything is working so far outside of the ssl cert error. Doing @thetrials recommendations.
  15. I went to test the new changes, but for some reason the settings aren't saving. I have it set to show only Forums (Front) for testing purposes, but the slider shows up everywhere. I also have it set to 500px height for this test, but it is only displaying at 140px height. There are zero customizations to the theme file on my end. Edit: I've discovered the height issue is caused by some inline styling which supersedes the css file.
  16. Anyway we can pick and choose which application(s) to show the slider individually in a future update? I'd like it to show on the forums and our default homepage, but right now we only have the option to show it on just the forums or everywhere.
  17. Reverted back to 1.0.4 until resolved as this is the earliest version that works without the issue.
  18. Hi, just updated this to the newest version 1.0.6 and members are not able to upload new videos. When they go to change it, the old video stays instead of updating to the new one linked.
  19. When viewing a forum topic, the links in the footer cannot be clicked.
  20. This might be a long shot, but I had a question/suggestion for this. Is it at all possible for a member (who has their Discord account synced with their website account) to receive alerts of new website notifications in a single Discord private DM thread? Discord is used by a solid majority of my members, and since there is no native app for Invision communities yet, this could be an awesome alternative for mobile notifications for the time being.
  21. On the ACP, the tabs and font colors clash with each other. (White text on very light gray background.)
  22. YES!!!! When I am home and on my PC I’ll purchase this!!
