It would be crazy useful if you could sync the calendar with for example our Google Calendar.

Please can you include the option to be reminded of member's birthdays that are already in the calendar as well as events. Currently the forthcoming events widget doesn't give you an option to include them, or better still a built-in dedicated 'Forthcoming birthdays/anniversaries' (anniversary of registering in the community) style widget would also be great, as opposed to just 'Today's Birthdays'.
My members like to post birthday topics on the special day for their friends, but often have to rely on the Today's Birthday's widget if they haven't manually checked the calendar each week, it often leads to belated birthday messages.

I agree, a mechanism to allow users to "up vote" posts and somehow highlight the highest voted posts would be interesting. There is already the "Like" mechanism, and that would be put into play. Anytime you have voting, though, you end up with people doing vote brigading, so it's not always ideal.

The admin can choose what options are available for recovery:
Send the user an email with a link which will allow them to reset the system Contact the admin to reset it from the AdminCP You can offer both or either (or neither) option.
If the admin themselves locks themselves out, there is a constants.php constant you can set to turn the whole system off to let yourself back in.

That's why you can choose to make it required for admins/mods but optional for your normal members

Correct, it is not set up on this site.

It takes time, but you can force check it via your Admin CP > System > Applications > Check for Updates
