    Yep did the permissions up. But I guess I have to find a tutorial on how to make those tabs on the menu bar......

    Roger

    ACP->System->Site Features->Menu Manager ... try different things, make sure you select 'Publish this menu' to apply changes. Unless you are talking about a different menu bar?

    Try this additional template edit in the same one

    Find:

    data-ipsTruncate-type='remove'

    Replace With:

    data-ipsTruncate-type='hide'

    Save.

    Done. Still truncating and not showing embedded content.

    I'm updating the core in the next 24 hours. I'll test again after that and post with the result.

    Can you give me an example of the kind of content your testing with in the status replies? When you say embed link, are you trying to have full Youtube embedded videos show in the status reply?

    GIFs, links, images, a YouTube video. When I am making the status update the embed works fine.

    Here it is being used, with a link to a topic not showing: http://revolutions.chroniclesofthedas.com/

    I'm starting to think it's either a conflict with another plugin or an IPS issue since I had it with a previously used status update widget mod.

    Can you try this. Open acp > theme editor > core > global > plugins > statusReply

    Find:

    {$comment->truncated()|raw}

    Replace With:

    {$comment->content|raw}

    Save. That should keep the truncate but not strip out html from the text.

    This is what the if statement turned into when I did that:

    {{if settings.statusReplyUpdate_truncate}}{$comment->content|raw}{{else}}{$comment->content|raw}{{endif}}

    It has stripped the embed link from the status.

    Simon, made some tests and worked fine for me: http://www.screencast.com/t/LpPByzDWWxSj

    I suggest you to do what newbie lac: disable one of them and try it alone. Then try the other alone, etc. Possibly some kind on incompatibility, since both may extend same method.

    Thanks! I just did this and it worked fine once I disabled this plugin; at that point all of the profile fields are available for everybody like normal anyway, so that makes sense. I also did it with a couple of other plugins that change things near the fields but they were fine by themselves and didn't fix it when disabled.

    It's as if it ignores the specific account groups but is fine with the 'All Groups' box. It's the same for both primary and secondary groups.

  6. Hi! I've been testing this out and am very happy with it so far. Once my lists go public I'll link to them in this topic. :)

    I have a couple of feature requests:

    • The option to copy topic-view styling for profile fields. For example, URL field types display as the url even when the output is styled otherwise.
      • Also, I'm not sure if this is more complicated than copying the topic-view or just the same but support for topic-views made by other third-party items would be great. For example: Dropdown Grouped Profile Fields.
    • Sub-lists. In the ACP, move lists to park them inset of other lists. This then outputs as a list that is accessible via a button in the description of the 'master' list, which when selected causes the 'sub-list' to appear, rather than go to a separate page.
  7. I am having the same issue, whether it's just with the default block or with a custom block that uses the plugin. I also had the issue when using a different status update widget plugin.

    Truncate setting is disabled and it is cutting the entries short to 3 lines.

    I am running 4.1.15

  8. I'm having trouble testing this with just my staff members. Me and my co-admin can see the new fields we have made but none of my moderators can. I've even selected them in the 'allow' group as well just to make sure but they still can't see it.

    If either of you can PM me your acp login details I want to check a few things out. I've confirmed this was fixed and a fresh install seems to work. But it looks like the upgrader missed something.

    This is fixed in the new version. Thanks!

  10. This doesn't fit in with my community at the minute but maybe in a few months time it will work. I am in the planning stages of making another site which would definitely benefit from using this from the start so maybe I'll get it sooner than I first expected.

    As always, newbie LAC's work is worth considering and this is no different

    Really?   XenForo has had that add-on since 2012, and I believe it is similar to one that was out for vB prior to that. PostRatings is one of the most sought after style add-ons for other scripts (hell, look at how long it to IPS to get similar to an add-on). And I'm fairly familiar with best 3 of them.  I have licensed Burning Board, IPS and XenForo sites and I am regular participant on all their support boards.

    It's long overdue that IPS got a similar add-on.

    I guess you think because it "costs more" it's always better.  There is a word for folks like that used by sales people.  It's called  a sucker. ;)

    :thumbsup:

    I do.. as well as IPS.  The XF add-on is 20GBP (about $25 USD) one time fee with life-time upgrades (single major version).

    I like the thought of the add-on, but am on the fence over the price and the $20 a year "renewal" terms.

    I've used XenForo before. The cheaper prices sure do suit the product.
