    If you put 0 in the setting "Prune all topics with this number of replies or fewer", it will prune topics only with 0 replies. You would enter -1 in that setting if you wanted to prune all topics. If you don't want the topics to be deleted completely, you'd just set the setting "Delete the topics from the database completely?" to No.
  4. Until the status of that report changes from Under Consideration to something else, you can be assured that it is still Under Consideration. Again, I've stated in that particular report, and in the post you just quoted, if and when the status of that report changes, the report will indicate that change. So you need to be keeping your eyes on that report if you want to know what's going on with it.
  5. I've never said that was something that would be added to the product. It is something that has been suggested and is under consideration: http://invisionfocus.com/tracker/issue-669-icons-into-categories/ As I say in that report, and status changes on that particular suggestion will be posted in that report.
  6. They have to have that 'Add Comments' permission to access the comments section at all. You can then refine their specific comment permissions in their group settings to let them only view and not actually add comments. Sorry, that does appear to be confusing.

Just so folks are aware, there's an app I created in the Marketplace that makes it very easy for developers to do this, and will be updated for 4.0 as soon as possible: I just wanted to throw this out there so as to prevent people from being discouraged that providing this update URL would be a complicated process for them. With this app, you just enter in the details of your product in a UI in the Admin CP and it generates an update URL for you which you can provide with your product. You can then update the info about your product in your site's Admin CP as needed and the URL will automatically return that there's an update available if necessary.
  8. If it was related to these acronyms then you likely would have had these issues other places in your site. The plugin for this app for IP.Content feed blocks does not do anything special with acronyms, but it does load the standard IP.Board parsing routines which will load custom bbcodes. So you may have had similar issues anywhere any parsing is done.
  9. I don't know what I could tell you about that. If it's timing out, and not just returning a database error, then that's more of an issue you need to discuss with your host.

  11. I can't reproduce this problem on my site. Try to see if you can go to the Other Apps -> Tutorials -> Categories page, edit a category, and set the permissions there. Another thing you may want to try is to switch to the English language and see if that changes anything, there was someone earlier who had an issue that I believe I'd narrowed down to it being something with the Russian translation of this app they were using.
  12. I don't have a live example of that page on my own site right now. The keywords are sorted alphabetically. And yes, there is pagination.
  13. Seems like overkill to me personally, I've never had an issue where I needed to limit the number of videos on a page though.
  14. The memberSync extensions already do all of this stuff. Every IPS app has one with the exception of Chat, which has no use for it. When you delete a member's account, the onDelete function in every application's memberSync file will execute and either delete the associated content or mark it unapproved, or something similar.

  17. That should work for most of the Friendly URLs, yes, but there will still be times where the URLs come up as ...app=tutorials&module=..., that's not something that can be changed. Note that easier changing of these Friendly URLs is a feature I plan on putting into the update of this app for 4.0 (provided IPS doesn't already have a way they'll do that for all apps).
  18. If it's not giving you the popup, then the Russian translation is not OK, not for this text that it is failing to popup for you, anyway. If you are able to delete a category when your language is English, but not Russian, then you need to address this issue with the maker of the Russian translation of this app.
  19. Again, I need to know if there are any javascript errors on the page. When you try and delete a category, it should be popping up a message box asking you to confirm, are you not getting that? It looks like you are using a Russian translation of the application, do you get this problem when you use English instead? My guess is that this is actually a problem with the language string it is trying to load on that message box popup. If this works for you when your language is English, but not when it is Russian, then you need to report this issue to whoever created that Russian translation for you.

  21. If the issue is that you can't search for something with three letters, and the Sphinx search IP.Board provides fixes that, then what is the need for some 'advanced' Sphinx search? And even without Sphinx in the picture at all, this can be taken care of with the same MySQL tweak that's been around for years. OK, if there are other search engine integrations that could be added, great, every other new option helps, but there are already two readily workable options now. Perhaps you could share some other examples of these other search engines that could be integrated? But I doubt there are too many folks who need three letter searching and can't use one of the existing options.
  22. As most folks said in this topic, it's not an issue that's due to IP.Board, it is a MySQL limitation. Thus, there's not much of anything IPS can do to 'fix' this for 4.0 apart from providing clear instructions on how to do things like tweak your MySQL configuration or how to use alternate search engines like Sphinx (both of which they already do).
  23. Make sure you uploaded all of the files that were included in this app, I'm not sure which plugin the message is referring to, I don't believe that's my app generating that message.
  24. Yes, doing those are things we as developers can do to our products to help reduce piracy. But customers hate that. It gives them extra hoops they need to jump through to install such products, as they need to ensure their server has the capacity to run such encoded scripts. If it is encoded to protect some licensing system that runs a call back to the developer's site and that developer's site is down then the user is stuck and can't complete the installation process. And lots of customers are just downright distrustful of installing something that gives them no way to tinker with the code or check for malicious code. Piracy sucks, but it's inevitable. It's better to make products that are as user-friendly as possible for all legitimate clients and accept that some people are just never going to use them legitimately, rather than make them hard for everyone to use.
