Being able to use full HTML and CSS for styling articles in Pages, at least for the admin, is one of the main criteria I used when I elected to switch to Invision Community to build my website, so if that's no longer available, that will be a HUGE step backwards, no matter how you slice it.
I understand that I'll have to play with the new editor to see how things are handled, but perhaps you can already answer a couple of questions: 
Is there a way to create HTML anchor links?  Will it be possible to create custom HTML buttons the way I currently can, for example like this?

I haven't received an answer to my earlier post in this thread, so I wanted to bring attention to it. Personally, I don't need to embed things per se, just to be able to give classes or id to HTML elements so that I can easily style them however I want. 
I also like to use an external code editor to edit the HTML so that I can easily for example do a "find and replace", then bring back the HTML code into my editor in Pages (all the time) or, more rarely, in the forum. 
Basically to me HTML source is a huge deal for Pages, not a huge deal for the forum if I can find other ways to style span elements to reach my goals. 

I use source mode all the time, mostly for Pages article. There are things that are easier to me to edit in HTML in a code editor like BBedit and then paste in the text editor in source mode. 
I would really, really miss source mode if it wasn't present in v5!! 

For records in Pages.
Tables Removing tags, that I cannot remove or repair other ways, like <abbr>-tags Adding styles like ipsButton or ipsMessage

I did not see these two previous features in the new editor.
Will this new editor still have the stock reply feature and the Source button for inputting code to the editor? I rely a lot on those two features.

Yes, we'll do a separate blog post, probably in the Developer Blog, but we created an editor plugin system with the ability to add and position new toolbar buttons.

I'm enjoying the story so far, but can we get some more chapters to complete the book? 😄 I enjoyed the once-a-week cadence of reveals a few months ago, and I'm hoping we're near the end of our mid-season break and can return to that? 🙏

This is promising and definitely reduces a lot of duplication of features across the community. Will there be any further optimisation/features for Our Picks as well? Ability to filter entries by content type/node category, auto-feature of certain content nodes (ie. automatically Our Pick a 'News' Pages record), that sort of thing? It'd be great to use this as part of a more advanced homepage feature!
Looking forward to hearing more. Hopefully there will be more to say about other apps as well (Gallery, Blogs, etc) but I'm happy with the chat about theming, Forums and Pages so far! Thanks for all the amazing updates! 😄

Please apply the patch that is showing within the support area of your admin CP. This will correct the issue you are experiencing

Next generation software. At first I was skeptical about IC5 but with more and more announcements, I think it looks very good. Many improvements and facilities for people without experience in creating a theme or plugins.
Personally, I am happy with the new sidebar and clickable panels. The mobile menu is also cool, it fulfills its function because I have such a menu in my community and it makes navigation much easier.

I can confirm this would only search the primary group. There is no way in which to search secondary at present
