It would be nice if Commerce can get some traction in donation tracking perspective. We have limited subscription option but bills are due every month/year. So having donation goals and who donated against that goal, provides more transparency.

Sounds good, thank you. The principle behind the second one is to encourage enagagement to maintain a subscription level, cost free or lower cost. I think someting similar can be achieved with account credit for activity. You set the amount of credit applied to each member based on logins, visits, achievements, etc. Something to encourage members to maintain their subscription level for reduced cost or free.

Not really. I work daily on BI tools from Microsoft, Google, Tibco, etc. and I can tell you from visualization perspective, it's bad idea.
No one can click on donut slice of more then 10. Here is live example:  https://fearless-assassins.com/donate/
@Matt Happy to hear, it's added. Have you considered users using donation app can be moved successfully from app to commerce? I really have long standing request i.e. in commerce it accepts credit card as a payment while donation app doesn't. So now, i am forced to use 2 applications because commerce can't create donation goals and show who donated when.
In today's world, I and many like me would prefer to provide transparency to end users i.e. when, how much and for what goals, users are donating.
2 major issues in donation app is only PayPal support and no subscriptions. I would prefer to have all in one app i.e. commerce or donation.

Already in, but we've not spoken about it yet.

What about the ACP? For example, when creating an invoice manually in 4.x it's impossible to add a Downloads file right now.

I also hope Custom packages are heavily reviewed for v5, since they have several bugs.
Rather, I've reported plenty of bugs (for Commerce and all other apps), and several are still open and untouched even with fixes provided in them (some since 2021-2022). 🤷‍♂️

Publicly released. Are you aware of private, custom mods? 🙂

Come on, it’s exactly the opposite. Some are possible. Most won’t be.
Bookmarking this to use later. 👍
I will make a list of my resources that will not be possible to update, after initial tests on V5, of course.

3rd party devs don't know that for sure yet. We haven't finished discussing the development tools, so they really can't tell what will and will not work. Most things are still doable. Some things are not. It's "wait and see" right now.

Again this bogus statistics gameplay. Jeez .....u had used same logic for removing support desk/ticket which everyone said, it's working fine.
Anything that you want to remove, use the stats card. Without plugins, I wouldn't use IPS because IPS Nexus/Commerce can't even do basic donation tracking which every community needs.
We love IPS and many are here since V2,V3 or even before versions... but with V5, it feels you want to go pro-cloud, make it standard for all and remove features which you think are not required without having 2nd thought for what your customer needs.
Why you need to push us to XF man..... I am not touching vB for sure.. so only choice XF for me.

I think it's because you are not interested in developing the market. I see a trend to close the community in the future in the cloud with paying customers, they are more profitable. IMHO. One of the advantages of IPS was its good extensibility and variety of applications and extensions.

The second plugin is something that should be included by default really, but, leaving that aside, my main issue is the first one I linked. I have plenty of similar (custom) modifications. That's the biggest problem, and your reply doesn't help at all, unfortunately. 😔

Still, remove the ability to hook is a huge step back and will make marketplace even worse and smaller but I guess that’s the point after all. A massive number of resources are dead.
We’re basically back to IP.Board 2 (file edits will be required for custom jobs as we can’t hook) and IP.Board 3 (back to hook points era).
Anyway, just my feedback. Not trying to annoy anyone; just my honest feedback.
    Tks.
