"We recognize your loyalty by moving your pay date forward 2 months"
Wow. Welp, there goes a community of 15,000 people you greedy, money vampires just sank with your leaching [REDACTED].

You just increased my bill to %250 of what it previously was.

And you [REDACTED] DARE to say "We recognize your loyalty". No. You ABSOLUTELY do NOT.
The ONLY thing you recognize is your own profit margin.

You people are [REDACTED] evil.

  • Aramaech changed the title to You forced my bill from $80 a year to $200 a year. W.T.F.
  • Author

Whatever semi-recent hire your company made, whoever it is that came in all smiles and [REDACTED], telling you you need to overhaul everything to "brace for the future" and cram a massive price increase up ALL your clients [REDACTED], while you smile in their faces, and wave a bunch of happy horse [REDACTED] flags around on your threads because you're so pleased with how much money that [REDACTED]'s graph says you're going to be making soon... needs to be [REDACTED] FIRED.

And the rest of you vets should be ashamed of your upper management, for trying to feed your customers to your shareholders. Start looking at your top 3 for replacement, because those life svcking, money leaches are out of touch with the people their paycheck is coming from (your user base), and they're off living in some fantasy land made of graphs by other leaches who want a fat cut in the short term, while they burn you in the long run, because THEY know EXACTLY what I'm talking about right now.

😳

😳

😳

You specifically asked how to have access to the Beta of IC 5 in November. You thanked a poster for this response:

The new terms shouldn't be a surprise to you. They've been announced a few times, and you were specifically made aware that you'd need to upgrade to the new licence if you wished to use this new line. It represents an increase on one of my licences, too, but it's clearly better value for other people. We're just on the downside of that arrangement.

Handled better than I would have @Matt, I would have had to redact myself 😂

We usually delete these things and speak to the person in private but what happens more often than not is that the customer decides to give us a 1 star review on TrustPilot (which is why we have a rating of 2.2/5), and post on competitor sites about how we're robbing people.

There is no such thing as bad advertising - after all, in the online space, most software users overlook any hate.

Those reviews and that score is insane. Never done Trustpilot but I’ve just registered and reviewed. Hopefully more clients see this and do the same.

More clients = More revenue.

More revenue = Bigger better thanks for IC.

Better things from IC = Better things for our communities.

Win/Win.

Much deservedly love from a long time client of yours that does not regret a single penny I have sent your way ❤️

You've made my .. Day.

Seriously though, that's very kind and I'm very grateful. I may put a topic up in the Feedback forum to ask customers if they have a few minutes to offer their honest thoughts.

Personally, I think you handled it better because you kept it public.

The private route can lead to further trouble, especially if someone is having a bad time. Seeing messages disappear in seconds, and not getting a chance to read or understand them. Followed by never having been rude, but feeling as if you can't give feedback. With mental health these days, you never know what it's like for the other person, but swearing and being abusive isn't acceptable.

i have done a review as well. Seems people only post bad reviews when they moan about something.

Best software i have used in years, rely on it, secure, i can trust that if i go on vacation, the software is working as it should. (as long as server is ok of course)

Certainly does not deserve those silly negative reviews, probably disgruntled because too impatient to learn the functionality of the software, and need to blame someone else and not themselves.

Ask people to write a review matt, i think you will find it will go the other way

Thank you so much! I did post in Feedback a little earlier asking if people could leave a review. Really appreciate you taking the time today.

I'll leave a review soon. I need to think of something very special to write 😀.

On that note, I'm the same here. It's probably the best investment software I've ever paid for in my whole life.

Can I just add, it's nice to know who replied to the feedback. This type of openness shows Invision is transparent and more than just a faceless company. (I am not suggesting Invision is; what I am saying is, from the appearance of feedback, it might seem so to readers.) That personal touch is a big acknowledgment.

Also, I don't want to sound nitpicky, but your feedback to all reviews says a lot, and I would encourage more than just thanking people who leave 4/5-star reviews.

The approach to negative reviews is fine, but you could take the approach of what you can do to improve them—even if the person seems unwilling. By leaving a bit more of a response to good reviews, it shows how genuine and appreciated they are.

Some readers will be skeptical and will judge every word, so my point in this comment is to ensure that those who put time into reviewing Invision don't get dismissed as disingenuous or potentially fake. I'm sure all this is known, but it's worth considering what, with the way people actually read reviews. Amazon, etc, have given things a bit of a bad reputation, and I think those who might be reading about Invision in this scenario will see a difference, that's all.

You're on Cloud currently. You would need to switch to the Classic self-hosted license first where you would be in charge of your hosting configuration.

I'm guessing all this goodness shining on IPS Trust Pilot hurts this individual's poor soul very badly 😂.

Fake review of a hater.

Just wanted to give another angle. I've been paying $135 every 6 months ($270 a year) for everything but Downloads. The new license at $199 is a DEAL, albeit I have not converted yet simply bc I'm too focused on my business and have not had to chance to read the difference in Terms of Service / etc.. between my old license and this one.

I agree with another poster. IPB has been an excellent investment for my community!

Context: I've been a customer since 2003 (22 years, wow.... just saying that) since IPB was essentially "free". I grew a business on the IPB community SW that serves many-many millions of users a month and who's revenue has helped my small family have a little more in life as a result. Thank you.

TL;DR Thank you IPB. Things are never a straight line but keep going forward. Adjust, pivot. IPB 5 is a huge shift. Older communities like me will likely wait a bit to let things smooth out (and give us time to adapt / migrate)... but I appreciate the need to innovate and keep relevant. My only ask is that you keep self hosted around :-).

Thanks again!

22 years! We should celebrate that. It's amazing how far we've all come together in that time. You are right, things are rarely in a straight line and we've definitely stepped in the wrong direction for a short time now and again but over two decades I think we've made more good choices than bad.

Yeah, I saw that. I linked back to this topic in the review so people can judge for themselves.
