Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
PanSevence Posted May 24 Posted May 24 Is it possible to disable access to the website without logging in, forcing users to log in to see the homepage? However, in that case, search engine robots will not see the page, new topics, and they will not be indexed. Is there a way to solve this, or am I mistaken?
teraßyte Posted May 24 Posted May 24 No. If you allow search engines to see something, and block guests simultaneously, Google (and others too I believe?) will penalize your site in results.
AlexWebsites Posted May 25 Posted May 25 I wonder sometimes how news sites get ranked and indexed behind pay walls. Completely unfair in my opinion.
