Invoices are generated when a user adds something to their cart. There is no way to block these other than disallow guests from adding gift cards to their cart.

How do I block guest for gift cards? Thanks.

You would need to block guests from purchasing entirely. That would be the only way really

Out of curiosity, how I do that? I needed this for Downloads files a couple of years ago and didn’t find a straightforward way to do it.

Payments>Settings>Checkout. You can set it so the account needed to be validated, therefore meaning there is no way to purchase without an account. Alternatively you can block access to the checkout module

Actually, while doing that, I found an error:

In Amount for Gift card - it allows you to enter, ABC for value and when you do add to cart, it throws below error message. Is their any way to allow only numbers in Amount field? This way, user doesn't get below error. Thanks

Could contain: Text, Page, File, Paper

Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention! I can confirm this should be further reviewed and I have logged an internal bug report for our development team to investigate and address as necessary, in a future maintenance release.

This still allows the purchase but holds the account for admin approval, right? That's not what I want. I don't want guests to purchase at all.

Yes, thats correct. If you dont want them to be able to purchase anything at all, just block the checkout module./

You mean in ACP -> System -> Applications -> expand Commerce-> Checkout?

There is no padlock for Checkout.

Marc, feel free to split my posts and create a new topic.

Ah Indeed, thats my mistake. You would not be able to do that at present.

Can't you just block Commerce -> Store for guests instead; sure they could technically create an invoice if they hit the right URL but I imagine it'd block 99%

Nope. I don’t want guests to purchase files in Downloads. I don’t use the Store.

Possibly an Anti-Fraud rule then? Nexus -> Payments -> Settings -> Anti-Fraud Rules -> Create New -> Set Action To Take to refuse, on Customer tab -> Customer is in group Guests
