Login username with custom profile field

Hello there,

I wonder if it's possible to allow members login with username, email or a custom profile field as 'username'. The field value is certainly unique per member and also is of number type

Only the display name and/or email can currently be used as login for our software. Anything else would require customization.

I doubt it's going to be as simple as a hook into existing code - you'll probably need to write your own login handler.

If you want to look further into this, then your starting point is to look at /system/login/handler/standard.php
