Posted December 11, 20222 yr Hello, I renewed my license after 4 years, so before I hit anything in upgrade proccess, what is good to know? 4.2.7 is not compatible with PHP 8 and 4.7.x needs at least PHP 8. Is upgrade script able work under php 7.4? Or is there other way how to successfull upgrade? Thanks. Edited December 11, 20222 yr by JankaR

No, it will not work under php 7.4. because as you already mentioned, the minimum php version for the latest Ipb version requires php 8. You should upgrade first your php version and then you can run the upgrader.
December 11, 20222 yr Author This not possible, admin works only under PHP 7.4, under PHP 8.0 I got lot of fatal and deprecated errors.
December 11, 20222 yr You can’t use the updater in the ACP because of how far behind you are. You need to update all of your third party resources. Switch to a default theme. Download a copy of the latest IPB files from your client area. Make sure you are running PHP 8.0/8.1. Run the IPB compatibility script to make sure your new PHP version has all of the required modules. Upload the files from the client area to your website. Run domain.com/admin/upgrade Switch back to your original theme if it’s compatible with the newest version.
December 11, 20222 yr Author I manually uploaded all files via FTP Switched to PHP 8.1 Then ran /admin/upgrade/ This went without any issues After upgrade in ACP I cleared all caches On board index I got some fatal errors, but after removing some Page's templates which I created long time ago and refreshing board index page, errors vanished. Looks like everything goes good, thanks Randy.
