Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
Rulex Posted October 19, 2022 Posted October 19, 2022 hello, we realized that, if you make changes to the theme files, at the time of any community update, the update procedure requires that these changes be removed. is there a way to make them stable without having to apply them to every update? in our case they are changes to the userBar core-->front-->global-->userBar
Solution Jim M Posted October 19, 2022 Solution Posted October 19, 2022 You wouldn't need to remove them for the upgrade to happen. You would just need to manually upgrade the template afterwards.

I usually always suggest doing plugins whenever possible to avoid this exact situation. It's easier just making a quick edit to a template, but then that template won't auto-update during an upgrade.
