Thomas Hop Posted March 21, 2022 Posted March 21, 2022 Hi Invision, After the update last 4.6.11, we get a guest profile creation every minute from 1 IP. This IP is used by a moderator, but is not active the whole day. So we can't block this ip. But how can it be that this guest profiles are created every minute? We don't use social login at the moment. https://bit.ly/3tqk7fA The profiles are temp in the AdminCp. But it is not good for our profile-user-id numbers, they are going up really fast. Thanks
Marc Posted March 21, 2022 Posted March 21, 2022 The link you have provided there is unaccessable. Are you using any methods of registration outside of the software?
Thomas Hop Posted March 21, 2022 Author Posted March 21, 2022 It is an admin link, sorry. No we don't use any social login. All on 1 IP, see for example this profile page we can reach by going to the ID in the url. Every minute multiple registration on 1 ip. Example profile: https://bit.ly/3toI6fl  Â
Marc Posted March 21, 2022 Posted March 21, 2022 Have you asked that user if they are doing anything which may be contributing to this? Also , please PM me the IP Â
Thomas Hop Posted March 21, 2022 Author Posted March 21, 2022 Yes, it is a mod of the site and knows what he's doing. He is not every minute on the forum, only a few times a day.Â

Marc Posted March 21, 2022 Posted March 21, 2022 We would need to look further into this for you, however the access details on file appear to be incorrect or missing. Could you please update these details by visiting your client area, selecting the relevant purchase, then clicking "Review/Update Access Information" under the "Stored Access Information" section. We look forward to further assisting you. Â
Management Matt Posted March 21, 2022 Management Posted March 21, 2022 Hi Thomas, I've taken a look for you, and I notice that you have around 30 custom plug-ins. The issue is almost certainly caused by one of those. What I suspect is that a memberSync extension has broken code, or perhaps code that tries to load a non-existent member without correct error checking is creating new members. I would disable all plug-ins, and then when you have verified the issue stops with the plug-ins disabled, re-add them one at a time until you find the culprit.

Thanks and let you know if this will fix the problem or it still exists. Matt 1
Thomas Hop Posted March 24, 2022 Author Posted March 24, 2022 We checked it, but it seems to still be a problem with every custom plugin and application disabled. Â
Thomas Hop Posted March 24, 2022 Author Posted March 24, 2022 Some more details we found. When you get an RSS feed from: https://invisioncommunity.com/discover/unread/ You get this URL: https://invisioncommunity.com/discover/1.xml/?member=590526&key=d2ac5feeaedf9bc9446a6bcab479e446 You can also visit: https://invisioncommunity.com/discover/1.xml/ When you do this, on our forum, the member creation is done.  Do you also get the new member in the ip log? It looks like a bug. Â
Jim M Posted March 24, 2022 Posted March 24, 2022 Thank you for your persistence, investigation, and detail on the issue. I can confirm this should be further reviewed and I have logged an internal bug report for our development team to investigate and address as necessary, in a future maintenance release. Â
