Pushpendra Singh Chauhan
On my website i am facing a issue. On File Information bar I can see view count are in two digits while downloads counts are in thousand. How is this possible if a user want to download a file obviously he will visit the page and this will go to view count. Could anyone advise
Nathan Explosion
I can give a scenario where it is possible - I could go to a listing once, and download the listed file 1,000 times, but I'm still only viewing the listing once unless I refresh the page. Not saying that is what you are seeing, but it's an example.

View count is unbelievable. It is not possible, view count is in 2 digit while downloads >4000
opentype
Would be much easier to judge this with more details/context or on the original website. Without that, it’s just guessing. If the two values don’t match, which one is suspicious? Are the views too low? Maybe that’s indicating a caching problem? Or are the downloads too high? That would be a different story. Is it a free download or paid? That would make a difference. Is it one file only with that problem or multiple files? And so on … Edited January 8, 2022 by opentype

The actual view count were around 400, while downloads are 12800. All downloads are free as the purpose of the website is online information dissemination. opentype
I see. Yeah, for a download that even guests can use, I am not surprised the numbers don’t match. People can share the download link button or the the download URLs directly, so it wouldn’t actually create a page view. Daniel F
Yea, what @opentypesaid and keep in mind that due to the guest output cache 99% of the views won’t even be logged at all, while the download will be logged.
