I just had a poster post a Giphy GIF file in a forum comment.

GIFs are not an allowed file type and the Giphy Community Enhancement is not enabled - so how are they still able to do this?

On latest version of IPS.

BUG?

That's a setting for file uploads, not remotely linked images.

And that is for enabling the GIF button in the Editor, not for controlling what can be linked.

They are simply posting a link to an image, which is perfectly fine.

If you believe it's a BUG, then raise a support ticket.

So how do I stop people posting GIFs in the forums?

You can use the URL blacklist feature to blacklist the giphy domain.

But otherwise if you allow remotely linked images, then remotely linked images are going to be allowed.
