Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
Aramaech Posted October 29, 2017 Posted October 29, 2017 My server seems to be hosting about 6 databases, and I want to erase the unnecessary ones. I'm correct in assuming IPS only uses 1 database, right? I mean what would be the point of having more than 1? (sorry if the question is ridiculous, I inherited the site, which existed for about 10 years before I got it, and it and went through a bunch of transformations over the years)
Meddysong Posted October 29, 2017 Posted October 29, 2017 Yep. You can find out which one it is by looking at your conf_global.php file and seeing what the value for 'sql_database' is.
Aramaech Posted October 29, 2017 Author Posted October 29, 2017 Thank you both for the speedy reply. Deleting the others.
bfarber Posted November 21, 2017 Posted November 21, 2017 Just one note in case anyone else comes across this in the future - if you use the 'archiving' feature in the forums application it is possible to store the archived posts in a remote database. You would check this in the AdminCP under Community > Forums > Settings.
