Do you have a confirmation on your desktop? We have implemented this only for the responsive style, to avoid that people mark accidentally a forum as read.
May 16, 20177 yr I've been marking forums on the desktop version (click icon) and I haven't seen a message. It's pretty much instant when I mark the forum. Tested here on this site, I get no message on Win10, using FF.

May 16, 20177 yr If it's capable of touch, then you will see the prompt. That's just how the JS detection works at this time, there's no easy way to determine whether your input is via mouse or touch.
