DreamOn Posted February 3, 2017 Posted February 3, 2017 Hi, I would like to pin a topic in multiple forums. How can I do that? Thanks!
Faqole Posted February 3, 2017 Posted February 3, 2017 Do you mean to make it like a global pin type of thing? This will require a plugin or some other modification I think,
DreamOn Posted February 3, 2017 Author Posted February 3, 2017 Yes, I would like to pin to a topic on multiple forums. A plugin for that ? Thanks for reply!
DreamOn Posted February 3, 2017 Author Posted February 3, 2017 Thanks @Adriano Faria, it's a solid solution. It's a shame the layout of annoncements is so ugly... Take too much place.
Joel R Posted February 4, 2017 Posted February 4, 2017 There's nothing available in IPS vanilla or the Marketplace to accomplish what you want. Some suggestions: - Use announcements. Although keep in mind that announcements are designed to be global - Write a topic per forum. But in every topic after the first, simply link back to the first topic.
Nathan Explosion Posted February 4, 2017 Posted February 4, 2017 Another alternative......turn off (ie set it to 'never') the "Delete Moved Links" setting in ACP -> System -> (Settings) Posting -> General, and then create a topic and then pin it. Next....move the topic, but ensure you use the "Leave a link to the new location?" to leave a link behind. Result: the topic, in its new location is pinned. And the link that is left behind is also pinned. Repeat until you've got the topic, and its links, in all the locations you want it..
