heartfelt-creations Posted September 24, 2018 Posted September 24, 2018 (edited) I upgraded from using the version that was created as a plugin to the latest application version. Will the settings and auto follow preferences carry over and will members continue to be auto subscribed or have I lost everything? Also would be helpful to know which database tables contain the settings and preferences for this application. On another note does this app work when adding members via the admin? We have a closed forum and we add users manually so self registration is disabled. Thanks Edited September 24, 2018 by heartfelt-creations

No, it required a manual action from you as stated in the upgrade notice: https://invisioncommunity.com/forums/topic/424007-auto-follow-content/?do=findComment&comment=2720033 7 minutes ago, heartfelt-creations said: Also would be helpful to know which database tables contain the settings and preferences for this application. Settings are stored in the settings table: core_sys_conf_settings. Conf_key is “afc_”, IIRC. 13 minutes ago, heartfelt-creations said: On another note does this app work when adding members via the admin? Yes.

LiquidFractal Posted December 8, 2018 Posted December 8, 2018 Hey @Adriano Faria...thanks for another great app! Looks promising, except that no Blogs or Clubs show up in my drop-down menu. I'm also wondering why Blogs and Clubs are both included under the Blogs tab...? I also notice that the Follow options for the LMS are currently limited to Modules...shouldn't there be first and foremost the option to follow courses? Thanks!

So Clubs appears under each app tab. Blogs doesn’t has categories, so... Regarding LMS, have no idea. Need to check. But LMS is a bit different than the rest. Modules are nodes of the main node (course).

Ok...so can you give me some direction as to how I would configure things so that new members automatically follow, say, a Site News & Information Blog since there are no Blog categories (yet??!)?
Adriano Faria Posted December 8, 2018 Author Posted December 8, 2018 (edited) I’m on mobile device. What does appear under Blogs tab? Blog menu and entries, right? Edited December 8, 2018 by Adriano Faria
LiquidFractal Posted December 8, 2018 Posted December 8, 2018 (edited) This is what I see under the Blogs tab: ("Spaces" is my rendering of Clubs) I have several Blogs and entries, so I assume they should be showing up somehow? The Entries field underneath this window is blank as well. Edited December 8, 2018 by liquidfractal
Adriano Faria Posted December 8, 2018 Author Posted December 8, 2018 Ok. I’ll take a look when I reach my PC, probably tomorrow in the morning. LiquidFractal 1

I changed Blogs to display Blogs (and not categories because Blogs doesn't has categories) and entries: Clubs not working there, not sure why. I'll come back to this at some point.

I just ask because some of IPS's menus like this are very buggy (for example when you're trying to filter Marketplace searches).
Adriano Faria Posted March 1, 2019 Author Posted March 1, 2019 You should report bugs in filters to IPS.
Joel R Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 @Adriano Faria Very minor fix to langstring: afc_anon: Let others see that the user follows the content Adriano Faria 1
Adriano Faria Posted October 5, 2019 Author Posted October 5, 2019 I’ll fix it when I have to release a new version.

LiquidFractal Posted November 23, 2019 Posted November 23, 2019 Thanks Adriano! I assume this new version effectively replaces the Auto Follow Club plugin?

Nope. This one here will make new members to auto follow a club and its features. The other required existing members to click in the follow button. LiquidFractal 1
Alexander V Posted December 17, 2020 Posted December 17, 2020 @Adriano Faria could it be that "Let others see that the user follows the content" is currently broken? Its not counting it in the follower number, but I can see the names of them just by clicking the number
