If you install the software at domain.com/forums/ and use the external index file, is it then possible to remove /forums/ from the URL? If you install your community at domain.com/forums then that's your root and everything will be there. (And if you set Pages as your default app as set out above, then your forum becomes located at domain.com/forums/forums.) Matt's entry relates specifically to using Pages below the community root. If you want all the apps to be at domain.com/app-name then you need to install your community at domain.com rather than domain.com/something-else. I thought that might be the case but was rather hoping that external index page could rewrite the URLs for all of the apps and not just Pages.
