socceronly Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 Upgraded my FileZilla to latest version... it no longer likes IPS Cloud servers.Anyone else experience this?Is there some new setting in the upgraded version making it unfriendly?Connects then.....Error: Connection timed out after 20 seconds of inactivityError: Failed to retrieve directory listingFZ version - 3.12.0.2
AndyF Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 I had this a while back it always hung on 'Init TLS...' on two different servers (neither were IPS ones but they were from completely different DC's)Use STFP:// instead of FTP:// and it seemed to work OK like that.
Pete T Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 WinSCP really good FTP client but also witch to SFTP might work.
AndyF Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 I just always use SFTP now instead of FTP as well as being a bit more secure it does not lock up. I think its a FileZilla issue though (although calling it an issue is wrong I guess) as I would suspect an older version of F.Z would work still with plain FTP. It may be possible to tweak F.Z to go back to that but that seems a 'step back' somehow...
Jim M Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 Filezilla in the newer versions is forcing TLS. If you do not use that in your connection, you will need to go to File -> Site Manager and set up your connection appropriately in FileZilla
socceronly Posted August 12, 2015 Author Posted August 12, 2015 Thanks everybody!I'll give that a shot!
