Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt November 11, 2024
• Jay • Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 Since the test forum is so tightly restricted, would it be possible to enable HTML, please? Since we can only see our own posts, I don't see the harm it would cause other members.
Rhett Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 You can on your test site! ;) Enabling html can be a security concern and why it's disabled by default. Wouldn't be a good idea imo. :)
Rikki Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 Staff can see all posts in the test forum, so unfortunately it still leaves the security issues.
KT Walrus Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 How about running the HTML through the new purifier that the 3.4 editor will be using? You could do this for all HTML posts (maybe on an admin switch), regardless of the editor usage of this new filter.
AndyF Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 I suspect it would still be possible to use a redirection or suchlike to do nasty things. I can see why its disabled here. If there's no board suitable then signing up for a demo may be one option.
bfarber Posted September 19, 2012 Posted September 19, 2012 We don't customize our forums here, so it's not like we can just start running HTML through HTML purifier until that is done directly in the core software. It's a direction we are slowly moving towards with the many changes made to the editor in 3.4, however.
