Aiwa Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 without adding any overhead  Key point on this entire subject... :)
GreenLinks Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 What i don't understand why people oppose features that improve User Experience. Currently when you use quick reply , you already are represented with tons of different options http://d.pr/i/DpqX These options are here to improve users posting habbit as they can customise their message layout. However while you are not opposing this , you are opposing attachments. Attachments are also another tool that will allow users to add content to your website. Never under estimate the power of reduced clicks for end user. Actually if you reduce the amount of clicks users has to face , you also reduce the amount of http calls end users makes. If attachment system existed in lasy loading via quick reply server will only have to face 1-2 additional http calls. However if the user clicks More Reply Options , he will have to reload the entire page and more server resources will be used because of increased http calls. Always look ways to improve your users experience on your site , otherwise you'll loose your end user to your competitor
CouesWhitetail Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 my 2 cents..... I would love to see a way to attach images with fast reply. I have a lot of users who can't figure it out as it is now. It should be an easy experience for our users to add images.

For a new user they wouldn't think to click on "More reply options". I've edited the language pack at my site and renamed this button to "Full editor / Attachments". I think that's a bit more intuitive. 3DKiwi

3DKiwi Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 Thats a really smart idea, got the line # of that edit so we can share that with others? I may give that a shot. Just do a language search "More reply options". There's only 2 results. The one you want is pretty obvious. 3DKiwi

broni Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 Just found this topic through Google. As some of you previously said: most of the time the ONLY reason I open full editor is JUST to attach something. I doubt it's a huge coding deal to include "Attach" option in "Quick reply". They have it at XenForo (just had to switch to full editor to add the attachment seen below):
Gabriel Torres Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 This will be in 4.0. Awesome to know. I am +1 here for this feature. My goal with enabling this is to orce users to upload files to our servers. Frequently they use image-hosting websites and after a while the images get broken.
