TCWT Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 The Media tag doesn't seem to catch the new youtube style embed links. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/VideoID" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Rhett Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 You don't use embedded links.. you use standard ones as below, let the forum do the rest for you. ie:
TCWT Posted November 13, 2011 Author Posted November 13, 2011 I know but won't it be nice to support the embed links too? :)
mbrown322 Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 Upgraded to 3.2.3 and Forum is not embedding the video..... 3.1.4 had a Media button and worked fine for Youtube. Help would be appreciated.

You do not need a media tag for 3.2.3... You just enter the youtube video link, board does the rest... automatically assign medi tag to the link... :)

I've dropped a Youtube link into a post.... all I get is a URL Link...not an embedded video.
TCWT Posted November 17, 2011 Author Posted November 17, 2011 Probably because Automatically parse media URLs is set to No. If enabled, and a link is submitted without bbcode tags that matches your configured media tag URLs, the link will be treated as media instead of a regular hyperlink.
mbrown322 Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 It is set to Yes. Thanks for the help btw. ...still not working.
Rhett Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 make sure to post the full URL this workshttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qscy5vl17s0 this doesn'twww.youtube.com/watch?v=Qscy5vl17s0 also if your using the new short url yout.be you need to install that bbcode
TCWT Posted November 17, 2011 Author Posted November 17, 2011 make sure to post the full URL this workshttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qscy5vl17s0[/CODE] this doesn't [CODE]www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qscy5vl17s0 also if your using the new short url yout.be you need to install that bbcode Is it possible to make it catch links without the http:// ? Also, the media bbcode for yout.be is installed by default.

Also, the media bbcode for yout.be is installed by default. the new one was only installed on 3.2.3, that's why I mentioned it... as some may not have it yet on earlier versions. On parsing non http:// I vote for that as well, but it would have to be changed up to do so.
Dave58 Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 A good way to fix this is to put the first part of the more recent style share link into the swear filter - to be replaced by the old one. It works well. :)

Dave58 Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 This is how I did it - Admin/Look & Feel -> Bad Word Filter -> Add New Filter. Beforehttp://youtu.be/ After http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=
M1r0 Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 HI, I accidentally delete the new media tag for Youtu.be and some others. Where can I get all the original ones ?
Mark Avey Posted January 8, 2012 Posted January 8, 2012 I can't get this working either. I paste into a post and it shows the link (not even as a link). I have Automatically Parse set to Yes and YouTube is enabled in my Media Tags. Any ideas? Of course, it works here, lol!
Worldoversea Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 That is the problem, I'm running 3.1.4, the normal youtube links work but the new ones such as the one prior to this post... Will not work with the media icon or by just placing the url in the body of the editor. There use to be a simple bbcode in the old days in where you just placed the video ID number such as "KAZwLM_mVzo" after the equal sign. Can this be fixed somehow to work like this or is there another fix to take the new youtube urls? Many thanks, JB
Koyakami Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 This is how I did it - Admin/Look & Feel -> Bad Word Filter -> Add New Filter. Before http://youtu.be/ Afterhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v= This worked for me! :) cheers matey!
Guest Posted March 30, 2014 Posted March 30, 2014 Hi, How can you force HD playback? I tried things like: http://youtu.be/KDAbiUC3oDo&hd=1 ... But it does not work. Any ideas?
opentype Posted March 30, 2014 Posted March 30, 2014 You need to change the YouTube media tag, not the pasted YouTube URL. http://www.lorenrrobertson.com/2013/04/embed-your-youtube-videos-in-hd/
