Management Lindy Posted January 10, 2012 Management Posted January 10, 2012 Thank you, Michael! Awesome.
shaks Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 Thanks for the fixes and improvements, Michael. :sorcerer:
Bethanyrayne Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 Once again a great update Michael. Is there any chance of having the date truncated to lets say "10 Jan" or "10/01/12" instead of 10 January 2012?
Michael Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 You can adjust the date formats this application uses under the Settings -> Global Configuration menu
knaleffect Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 I have this issue when I'm in a timeout then have i this button to go back but when i click on it. It's doing nothing, weird.
Michael Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 Do you have the javascript file uploaded? Have you customized any skin templates? If so, you may need to revert them. Are you referring to the button on the Global Shoutbox hook or the main Shoutbox application itself?
knaleffect Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 Yes, I have uploaded the JS file and no i don't have customized the templates. The Global Shoutbox Hook ;)
Michael Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 I just tried it on my site and it's working fine. If the button isn't working it means that it can't find the command it's supposed to execute, and that means either the javascript file on your site is outdated or the template is.
knaleffect Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 I can't find the problem but is it possible to disable the timeout function?
Bethanyrayne Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 You can adjust the date formats this application uses under the Settings -> Global Configuration menu Thanks Michael should have noticed that. Perfect.
Azoun Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 Since upgrading to this latest release the ajax image at the top of the page is constantly flashing. Any idea why this might be and how do I address this?
Michael Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 As above, make sure you have uploaded the latest version of the javascript file, and possibly revert any customized skin templates. You can also disable the image completely from the app's settings.
Azoun Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 No template changes have been made and only colours adjusted in the css. In addition to this I have disabled the image in the options but it makes no difference at all.
Michael Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 Then I don't know what else I can tell you. I cannot reproduce any such problem.
Azoun Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 Could you therefore advise how I revert to the previous version as i do not want this as it is please Michael as it also seems to slow the whole site down, possible a coincidence of course? Thanks
Michael Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 As with any application, there is no downgrade option. You can uninstall this version, get the previous one from the Marketplace in the previous version section, and install that instead. I'm finding it hard to believe that this version is slowing your site down, seeing as how this version was all about stopping the issues that cause the site to slow down. It still sounds to me like you have either an old javascript file or modified templates somewhere.
Azoun Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 Hi, In addition to the issues above the shoutbox buttons have also stopped working. I have deleted the js file and uploaded it again. I have reverted the css and changed the colours again. I have double checked all the templates and none have been adjusted so nothing to revert. If you would like to take a look you will see that this is the case. You already have access to our site (www.imperium.co) so do feel free to do so. Please remember that you need to be logged in to see the shoutbox. As a seperate issue the shoutbox has just used so much resource on our site I have just been informed by our host that the site has been disabled until it is fixed. regards, Andy PS Image below showing execution change since updating shoutbox:
Michael Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 As a seperate issue the shoutbox has just used so much resource on our site I have just been informed by our host that the site has been disabled until it is fixed. Then I have no way of looking at what you have wrong on your site for this.
Azoun Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 And I am indeed up the creek without a paddle :( I shall just uninstall this version once the site is allowed to operate again (switched off for an hour I believe) and go back to an older version.
Dmacleo Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 I had to flip my minify css/js back and forth once and recache all (from cache management not skin), buttons were inop until then. I also had issues loading js scripts from google, as I usually do, maybe worth checking those 2 items Azoun?

Jinkler Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 Please excuse me if I'm just being blind, but I can't see how to add the shoutbox to the sidebar like I did with the 3.1 version?
Michael Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 Edit the settings for the Global Shoutbox hook from the Settings -> Hook: Global Shoutbox menu under Other Apps -> Shoutbox in the Admin CP.
