Thanks for the fixes and improvements, Michael. :sorcerer:

Once again a great update Michael. Is there any chance of having the date truncated to lets say "10 Jan" or "10/01/12" instead of 10 January 2012?

You can adjust the date formats this application uses under the Settings -> Global Configuration menu

I have this issue when I'm in a timeout then have i this button to go back but when i click on it. It's doing nothing, weird.

Do you have the javascript file uploaded? Have you customized any skin templates? If so, you may need to revert them. Are you referring to the button on the Global Shoutbox hook or the main Shoutbox application itself?

Yes, I have uploaded the JS file and no i don't have customized the templates. The Global Shoutbox Hook ;)

I just tried it on my site and it's working fine. If the button isn't working it means that it can't find the command it's supposed to execute, and that means either the javascript file on your site is outdated or the template is.

I can't find the problem but is it possible to disable the timeout function?

No, you cannot disable the timeout function.

Thanks Michael should have noticed that. Perfect.

Since upgrading to this latest release the ajax image at the top of the page is constantly flashing.

Any idea why this might be and how do I address this?

As above, make sure you have uploaded the latest version of the javascript file, and possibly revert any customized skin templates. You can also disable the image completely from the app's settings.

No template changes have been made and only colours adjusted in the css. In addition to this I have disabled the image in the options but it makes no difference at all.

Then I don't know what else I can tell you. I cannot reproduce any such problem.

Could you therefore advise how I revert to the previous version as i do not want this as it is please Michael as it also seems to slow the whole site down, possible a coincidence of course?

Thanks

As with any application, there is no downgrade option. You can uninstall this version, get the previous one from the Marketplace in the previous version section, and install that instead.

I'm finding it hard to believe that this version is slowing your site down, seeing as how this version was all about stopping the issues that cause the site to slow down. It still sounds to me like you have either an old javascript file or modified templates somewhere.

Hi,

In addition to the issues above the shoutbox buttons have also stopped working.

I have deleted the js file and uploaded it again. I have reverted the css and changed the colours again. I have double checked all the templates and none have been adjusted so nothing to revert.

If you would like to take a look you will see that this is the case. You already have access to our site (www.imperium.co) so do feel free to do so. Please remember that you need to be logged in to see the shoutbox.

As a seperate issue the shoutbox has just used so much resource on our site I have just been informed by our host that the site has been disabled until it is fixed.

regards,

Andy

Then I have no way of looking at what you have wrong on your site for this.

And I am indeed up the creek without a paddle :(

I shall just uninstall this version once the site is allowed to operate again (switched off for an hour I believe) and go back to an older version.

I had to flip my minify css/js back and forth once and recache all (from cache management not skin), buttons were inop until then.
I also had issues loading js scripts from google, as I usually do, maybe worth checking those 2 items Azoun?

Many thanks for the suggestion, much appreciated :)

hope it helped :)

Please excuse me if I'm just being blind, but I can't see how to add the shoutbox to the sidebar like I did with the 3.1 version?

Edit the settings for the Global Shoutbox hook from the Settings -> Hook: Global Shoutbox menu under Other Apps -> Shoutbox in the Admin CP.
