tAPir Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 If you want a group to see AND use the shoutbox you would set them both to Yes. For a group like Guests you may want the to SEE the shoutbox but not USE it.
Arianna Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 Tapir, I did just that but still see that message.
najaru_1 Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 did is normal that youtube link are parsed in shoutbox and we see direclty video?
Square2 Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 Thanks for this mod! This may sound totally anal, but when the Shoutbox is set to SIDEBAR, all the buttons are set to the left. Can the buttons be centered?
Dana B. Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 @Cavwife67 FTP: File Transfer Protocol There are programs you can use to upload files/folders multiple files/folders such as: CuteFTP Filezilla WS_FTP And more. If you want to upload a whole folder, that would be your best bet. If you're only uploading 1 or 2 files at a time, and not often, then cPanel would be your best bet. To install Shoutbox onto your IPS board: Unzip the zip file use an FTP Program Then go into the "upload" folder that you will see after you have unziped the zip file. upload all the folders/files inside that upload folder to your forums main directory. If you want some help in doing this, just let me know, and i'll be glad to lend a hand. :D Thank you SO much! I am going to try this today!
Square2 Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 Tested Shoutbox in IE8 and IE7. I am using the Sidebar. The scroll bar is not appearing so you can only see 1 shout at any time. Is this an IE bug?
CrossFire-Radio Posted December 15, 2010 Posted December 15, 2010 Well okay, I figured out how to change the width of the Shoutbox... But now I need to figure out how to get the Side bar to come up so that its beside the shoutbox. Like this: Is there something that the shoutbox is set up with to which I can edit it up so I can bring the sidebar up with it? Anyone have any ideas how to do this?
Square2 Posted December 15, 2010 Posted December 15, 2010 Looks like there are 2 big bugs that could knock this out of use. 1. No scroll bar on IE 2. No forced line break on run-on words This shoutbox looks great but I am playing it safe and disabling it until these are corrected. I hope a fix is found quickly.

CrossFire-Radio Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 Type of Page Check Page Check checks the address of the loaded page to see if you want to exclude or include the shoutbox there. (Exclude from specified pages) Pages list Write here the pages for the above setting. Enter 1 page per line and separate each command with a comma (,). For example to exclude it from the 'Search' page write this: act=search. If you want to exclude it from the user id #1's profile page instead write this: act=profile,MID=1. IP.Chat is set as index.php?/chat/ I have tried app=chat I have tried /chat/ I have tried index.php?/chat/ I cant get the shoutbox to stop showing on the chat page... How can I get it to not show on the chat page? (it just seems a little pointless to have a shoutbox + chat all on the same page..) = (EDIT) Nvm... lol it was app=ipchat
Preston Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 where do i put the shoutbox at in public_html/admin or what please help.
Taylor J Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 where do i put the shoutbox at in public_html/admin or what please help. Upload all of the files to their respective folders. Or in your root (where you installed IPB) you can select all of the folders/files and drag them into your root and it will do all of the work for you.
thangbom Posted December 24, 2010 Posted December 24, 2010 How can i to move the Shoutbox to the End of Board Index. Please help.
GroupHF Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 Hello, When I try to use this javascript, my shoutbox stops working: (cant shout, cant refresh , cant load smilies, but only on the page I used this javascript.when I go to forums, the shoutbox just works fine.) (I use shoutbox 1.1.3)<script type="text/javascript" src="http://code.jquery.com/jquery-latest.js"></script> <script> $('#show2').click(function() { $('#showc2').slideToggle(); }); </script> When I remove this line: <script type="text/javascript" src="http://code.jquery.com/jquery-latest.js"></script> Then it works without problems. What could be the problem? cause I want to use the SlideToggle function. Maybe I need to use the javascript that ipb uses? Thanks in advance, Tim Feijen

Please realize that you are dealing with someone who has no idea whatsoever. Where is the forum's main directory? What is it called?
Paul.F Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 Is there a way to have a sound notification when a new message is sent to the shoutbox?
Americanbang29 Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 Alright, I have everything installed and I believe I have the right thing enabled for it to work. I go into Manage Applications and it's got a green check enabling it. However, when I go to My Apps at the top and go to shoutbox, it shows the online status as a red X disabled. How do I enable it?
lyly_toho Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 Is there a way to disable Youtube videos from being embedded in the shoutbox? They are so annoying. Plus, it causes the video to be located out of the shoutbox on the iPad.
Analogue Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 How do I put the Active Users hook below the Shoutbox when it's in the sidebar?
Jinkler Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 Probably by dragging the hook below the other hook in your ACP.
gerard001 Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 Hello all I have a problem with the 1.3.3 ipshout I can make any choice as admin see picture I put everything on no and now I do not know how I can put everything so as admin know anyone here deal with it thanks in advance gerard
Jinkler Posted January 2, 2011 Posted January 2, 2011 I actually recommended that no-one uses this mod until the IE8 scrolling is fixed. It's a complete show stopper. You'll simply get users complaining that it doesn't work.
