bfarber
Thanks for the reply Matt Will the current openid method be improved ? Looking at the way others do it, it does seem that it could be done a lot better. RPX is a service, it's not quite the same thing as OpenID. RPX is a service that the OpenID makers have created (a pretty nice looking one, mind you) that you have to sign up for to make use of. We wouldn't be "improving OpenID" by integrating RPX. We'd be replacing the current OpenID method, with a more generic method that handles multiple services from a single window. It may or may not be included at some point in the future (there are a lot of considerations, including barriers to use (we can just include openid support, but RPX requires users to sign up at a third party site), licensing, etc. Still, that's a separate topic ([url=" which you've already posted :P ). Thanks for the reply again Be good to see the openid method replaced as I certainly had no joy trying to use the current one with the google service. At rpx they do have a analysis of trends which may be of interest as was suprised at how high google was. So it be great if we are indeed going to see improved google and yahoo etc logins Across all customers (multiple industries represented including entertainment, media, entertainment, retail, non-profit, and technology), Google accounted for 37% of logins, followed by Facebook at 27%, Yahoo! at 11% and Twitter at 6%. links http://blog.janrain.com/2010/01/social-media-industry-trends.html http://www.janrain.com/press/2010/janrain_publishes_data_industry_trends
