Hello ! I've managed to reduce the load on my server and have it working fine, but I still have one or two sudden high server loads per day. You can have a look at one here when I had about 480 users online (mp4 file) : http://www.andrejorge.info/divers/18-03/HIGH_SERVER_LOAD.mp4 One example of a top running earlier the same day with 590 users online : http://www.andrejorge.info/divers/18-03/590_users.mp4 Another one : http://www.andrejorge.info/divers/18-03/450_users.mp4 I'm trying to optimize MySQL and HTTPD, and will have a closer look into it tonight, but simply looking at the tops, do you think there may be a server misconfiguration ? Can you advise me ? …

After a few days with the IPB3 noticed a considerable increase in the processing server, I got to do some testing until I found the solution. Using mod_rewrite in ipb3, and putting. Htaccess indicated by invision: I had a completely absurd overload on the server load was around 0.80 0.90 jumped to 4.30 4.50 and after breaking his head a lot, I realized that the problem was that education mod_rewrite Simply replace by: With this managed to keep the functionality of mod_rewrite while having a lower load completely

I had to turn off "Enable Topic Marking Tracking?" If I left it on I get tons of queued queries on a locked table. I get massive locks on this table: ibf_core_item_markers. Simple delete queries hang and never come back. I have to restart mysql to clear them. There are simply too many to kill. If I leave this feature on then my server goes bye bye. If I turn it off it comes back. In the previous IPB I had one of these tables doing this job as an innodb table to allow row level locking versus table level locking (if I recall). It was way better this way. Is this an option still? ibf_core_item_markers --> innodb. Thoughts?

After some testing with IPB 3:05 Mysql decided to leave, although a database very functional and robust, it is found wanting in time .. and the database has only increased I decided to install a clean version of the IPB using the MSSQL drivers and I liked it very much and speed .. I decided to say goodbye to Mysql ... I'm looking for some solution to the migration of data without having to import all the "Converters" .. would be much more work to redo all the permissions of groups and users. Does anybody know any utility to do this migration without loss of data? Looking for alternatives to Convert from IPB, will use only as a last resort.

Hello! I am just setting up my first IPB installation, converting from phpBB. I have localized my installation with the german language pack, and everything shows fine, except for one little thing. We are upgrading our forums to the latest versions during next week, at the moment we have version 2.3.6. We have 3 dedicated servers and we told our host to upgrade those to the PHP and MySql versions that latest IPB requires. They did and immediately after that we 'lost' our forum. I mean that if you went to the forum, all you could see was a blank page, forum was 'invisible'. Our host said, that they put PHP version 5.2.6 to the server and that collapsed our forum. As I wanted forum to work and we'll upgrade it only during the next week, I asked them to put old PHP version back. They did and now forum is working again. So the question is, that is IPB 2.3.6 incompat…

We have a site with lots of traffic and since moving to IPB 3 have significant issues once we get up around 1700 users online at once with lots of concurrent posting/reading. Thinking of switching some of our production database tables over to InnoDB. Seems like posts and topics would be the ideal since these seem to lock up the most frequently and cause high server load issues. I have heard mixed reviews on InnoDB when being used with IPB. What do you use?

We migrated our rather sizeable board to 3.0.5 yesterday, and as soon as we launched the load averages on our apache servers went through the roof (>30). We submitted a critical ticket, and are yet to hear back. Even with the board set to "Offline", the load on our front end servers is around 10 on each of them, with IPB 2 running normally, we would rarely hit a load of 1. Renaming index.php to something else to prevent access to the forums results in the load dropping back to normal levels, so we know the forums are the cause of the problem. Enabling "High Performance Mode" had no effect on the load, and setting the forums offline is still not enough to resolve the pr…

I'm having a little problem with the conversion of VB4 to the IPB, the members table is very slow .. In 24 hours the conversion convertino were only 200,000 users, and in the database have 800,000 registered users. ... Are there any way to optimize the conversion of this table? According to the PhpMyadmin a query that takes longer to be used is this: SELECT email, members_l_username, members_l_display_name FROM ipb_members WHERE email =''OR members_ based on the string above, I believe the slowness is due to give this line of code $this->DB->build( array( 'select' => 'email, members_l_username, members_l_display_name', 'from' => 'members', 'where' =…
