Breaking Skins with new Versions 1 2

Why is it that skins have to be broken with every new major version of IPB forums? This is extremely hard work on your customers. On my forums I have 5 different skins that forum staff spent many many hours designing, bug fixing, and tweaking so that the visitors cold have a cool selection to choose from. If I update to 2.2, yet again, I will lose all these really great designs. I see this as a major issue with IPB as it increases workload on a forum on a huge scale. Rather than a simple (and efficient) upgrade routine that takes 10 minutes, board admins are faced with weeks of work to redesign skins. Client area lost password

Guys, please help a frustrated user... I've lost my client area password and the "lost password link" doesn't work - I never receive the email with my new password. It's not spam binned. I've tried email billing, sales and support @. I get the auto responder saying "we have received your ticket, click here to respond", but the link is to the client area and I get no other communication from IP. I've been reporting this problem since before Christmas. Please help. Paul

First of all, many thank for fast help with some problems to IPS support team! New 2.2 surprised by very easy setup proccess and a lot of new functions, thanks Ips developers! But I think that new most important thing called "member's rating" hasn't got good support. Feature Request: Forum Thumbnails

When I implemented Invision Powerboard for our Intranet a lot of people complained that the interface was too busy and it wasn't at all easy to see what was what at a glance, which I tend to agree with. One idea I had, and have implemented, was forum thumbnails. When you have a lot of forums, especially in an arena where your implementation covers a lot of different areas of interest, a picture makes it significantly easier to understand what you're looking at at a glance. I implemented this functionality by editing the template code to add an extra column for the forum thumbnail in the forum index page. The trouble is, it assumes you have an image named [forumid].jpg …

Min/Max User/Display name length

As the board admin i would like to decide myself which lengths are acceptable or not! My suggestion is to make this an ACP option but with a hardcoded "override" to prevent admins accidentally trying to allow entries less than 1 character and more than lets say 40 :)

Session IP Address Checking

Hi, Some of the members at our forums are complaining about being randomly logged out, which I can only assume is because they have dynamic IP addresses that when change invalidates their session. While I know that you can turn the session IP address checking feature off in the IPB settings, I really don't want to disable this for the entire board. Therefore I would like to make a feature request: would it please be possible to add a new user setting to enable/disable IP address checking on an account-by-account basis? That way I can disable this functionality for those users having problems while still protecting the majority of our members from session hijacking. :) …

I am staff member of GeeksToGo.com. We (the staff members) were talking about the warning level feature. And I said I would like to see it when sending PMs. Blair (the Admin) said that, that would be a feature request for Invision. So can we please have this feature added?

In ACP you have the option to deny guests to view signatures, posted images and user avatars. But why not expand this option to that guests can not view links made in a topic/post? I'll think phpBB2 has this simple option, so why not IPB? Another thing that we should have is.. you need a certain amount of post counts to view a topic.

Bug in website

Hi, my license expired in October, I decided to wait until 2.2 was released before renewing, so I tried renewing it today but when I try to pay the invoice in the Client Center it says $69 for 6 months and then $25 dollars for additional months. That doesn't really make sense because it is supposed to be $25 for 6 months and not $69. I think this is a bug in the billing system and it needs to be fixed up.

There should be a mod were you can decide how long someone will have a rank or member group. You decide how many days or hours this person will have it. It should also be included with # of posts someone must reach. This is needed because: You have a forum and you want the members to obey the rules, they should spend some time learning the rules. So I would set the rank for 3 days. They have 3 days to observe the forum and post on certain boards and get to know the rules a bit. After those 3 days, their rank or member group moves to the next one. Also, the member needs to have X amount of posts and the 3 days with that rank/group in order to move up. One can't happen wi…

hello, i need this information urgently as i'm about to renew tomorrow. up to now i've had the $70 yearly license, so as i'm an existing customer, i'm not sure how much is the renewal going to cost me and i can't find the amount listed anywhere in my Client Area. i can only see the $150 option for the Standard License, but that's listed under New Purchases, not Renewals as i'd expect to have found. so please let me know the amount i'm due to pay tomorrow and what happens in case i decide not to renew just now, but do it a bit later (and how much would that cost too)? thanks and please respond asap!

Calendar event moderation queue via ACP?

Hi, As of right now, any submitted calendar events awaiting approval can only be seen during the month in which you're viewing the calendar. Meaning if somebody posts a calendar event 8 months into the future, you'll never know it was posted and awaiting your approval until you browse that particular month for which it was posted. This gets to be a burden when you have so many members and 3 years at a time available on the calendar. I've talked to the IP folks, and they said they may add ACP feature in future upgrade as a centralized event moderation queue. But until then, is there any mod or script that could be written to allow the Admin to view all pending calenda…

I relised recently on my forum that i can't search inside a forum and moderate the found topics, WHY??? "Heres a example of back in the day when gmail had invites and we had millions on our forum so we decided to make a forum for people to exchange invites. Now wot if i wanted to search for the word gmail and move all the subsequent posts into the gmail forum???" I CAN'T!!! I think this should be a added feature into IPB and definetly would make a valuable resource. Its not hard to do either. c&c.

I found a bug while running a demo board and I don't think it's been reported before. When creating a "forum rules" section for a particular forum & you add a list, it breaks it. How do I explain this, maybe a picture would be best. This one has no list: This one has a list: It breaks with the LIST and various other BBCode elements. Do you see the break? I have noticed that from the 19/dec/2006 date of release of the last version of IPB, ICB, IPG and IDM, many bugs have been signalled and correct, many of which indeed serious and annoying.. but later more than one month available always online the same versions. I would not want that you decide a new version goes out, example 2.2.2 for IPB etc but as assiduous client to appreciate a best support, that at least maintains adjourned the package of modules in formed .zip already online into client area, inserting and signalling the correct files... it would be a good thing. because currently the versions online have bug, for already correct very annoying and in some serio…
