Hello, I use the private forum for some members. I would like for private members a new forum, I just want active Can reply to OWN topics "ONLY" for new forum For the new Forum, I am create a new "User Group" and new "Create a new permission set". Now for its members I activate secondary group. First off, the question: Is there any way to change the author of a post? One of the members on a forum I manage happened to get his account deleted. (Don't ask ;)) He had ~400 odd posts at the time, and now they all show up as Guest_Koder_* or -Koder-. Is there a way to change these post's 'ownership' to his new account? And the suggestion: Recently, I added another member to my root admin group, but set it as one of his secondary groups. It turned out because this was bad, because he couldn't edit his account, giving him an error of 'You can't edit root admins', even though he belonged to the proper group.

HeHe, I hate to be a stickler guys but I see a tiny little error on the Pro skin using Firefox. The main table border has a grey outline and a tiny white space before the next table starts. I see this on both sides in IE but only on the left side using Firefox I attached a picture of the right side, compare it to the left.

I recently sent an email to sales@invisionpower.com, and received this in return: Thing is, I sent it from a different email than my client center login, so how am I actually supposed to log in? Also, note that the url is index.php?appcomponenet rather than index.php?appcomponent.

Restricted board is not really restricted...

For example there is IPB with closed access to access board you need to register and have admin to activate your account. Although when you do all this steps and get access to the board and post there, you can after few day's find your post trough google search engine because board does not restrict web spiders and probably other users access to printable (no graphics) version of board. Is this bug?

What is this?? I bought the IPS software a year ago and now I get an e-mail saying you were trying to get $30 from my paypal account that failed because there is no money, first I thought it was SPAM but there could be some truth? As I BOUGHT the software, Iw as convinced it is MINE forever, there was no word of a need to pay $30 a year, if so I wouldn't buy it. The software was expensive enough and I don't see a reason to pay even more, if it is for the "service" I don't need it, the forum runs perfectly, I never needed to consult the service so I don't pay anything anymore. Please tell me whats up!

I think it would be fantastic to send ALL emails (Including board subscriptions and notifications) to run as pre-defined batches/cycles in a task. Infact exactly like the Bulk Mail batches/email cycle system which runs as a task, except this applies to all emails sent out by the board. Most shared hosts have a email limit (A few hundred per hour) and more email providers like Hotmail now have a limit on the amount of emails the entire domain name can receive in an hour.

2.3.3 Upgrade Cannot be Started

Sigh. Downloaded the 2.3.2 to 2.3.3 upgrader. Trying to install and the installer is displaying an error at the top of the screen, Sure enough, there is no "config.xml" file. There isn't one in the install package, I double checked. Here's a screenshot: Well, so much for a screenshot. I tried to upload an attachment here but received the error, "Upload failed. The file was larger than the available space." It's a small 84K picture. The error appears on the first installer screen, above the upgrade dialog. Anyone else run into this? ..Al

Wasnt sure where to post this :ph34r: Just wondered if there was a list of who did what at IPS etc. Theres a fair few staff members on here, i just wondered what role(s) they did. Also, do the offices in the UK and US operate in parallel ? (ie both do support / billing etc) or are some tasks designated to one office only ? I am a member of another web site that uses your forum software. We have the ability to automatically subscribe to any topic that we start or reply to. That's a fine option for those who want that, but although I always want to subscribe to topics that I start, I do not want to subscribe to every thread I reply to. I rarely want to subscribe to a topic that I didn't create. The way it is now, I have to subscribe to my own topics manually. It's an unnecessary step that could be removed by adding an extra option. Will you please add an option for people like me who only want to automatically subscribe to the topics that we start? Thanks for your help.

I really wish IPS would keep track of file changes and put a file difference report along with upgrades. It used to be done and now it isn't kept track of apparently. this upgrade wasn't such a killer, but file comparison software was not working well for me on this upgrade becuase I guess something threw off line numbers so the entire files were shown as changed when really not much was changed in them. So I had to put modifications back in. And to top that off I had already patched a lot of things, but since there was no difference report for the files I could not assume I had the files all updated. The upgrade packs are at least quite convenient, but it could have…
