Hello, I ordered my first IPB licence last year, for the company I was working for at the time. Whenever support was needed, the response from IPS was helpful and quickly responded to. I've been an inactive client for a good 6 months now, and have simply left the licence to expire. A couple of weeks ago I was approached by a penitential buyer for this inactive licence. Ok, so the idea behind the topic markers is to allow a user to see what they have read, and what they haven't read. This is supposed to work when they are logged in no matter what computer they are on, etc... I can imagine that with the complexity of how it works, it can cause quite a bit of overhead, correct? In effect, I'm really not suggesting that the concept be changed. What I am suggesting, however, is a "performance" alternative using something that already exists: browser history. Im not sure if this is possible or worth it, but is there any chance we can get a feature added where when we "Create" a new skin it gives us a box to check where it will add the default immages to the "named" folder, its no biggy just be easier insted of everytime i wanted to make a new skin i have to upload the images agian, so didnt know if it was possible to have a default image folder (none ditable) that when we create a new skin and tell it to it basicaly copies the contents to the folder named, just an idea :)

Would it be possible to have an option to have a "drop down" box for the "yes" and "no" answers? So if you asked the question on the registration page "Are You Human" they would just use the small drop down that had the two answers "yes" or "no" with no being the default so it would not pass the registration on(so they have to answer yes). Makes more sense than having to have answers like sure, of course, why, what do you think, etc., plus the yes and no. I have used a mod like this on 2.3.6 and it sure helps stop the non-human spammers!

Is there any way to overload functions in classPostclassPostForms without direct code editing? Only with hooks. For example, I want to add an additional field like "Topic Description". It's expected to be processed with common fields and saved to database by extending the common "insertupdate topics". No additional queries. Is that possible to reload compilePostData? I am in the process of converting the global shoutbox and I've come across an issue with the caches. In IPB 2.3 was possible to use init_load_cache to load an array of caches at once but now in IPB 3 this is not possible anymore, the only way is to use $this->cache->getCache('cache_name') but in this way I need to use 3 different queries to load 3 caches. A quick solution would be to change the function _loadCache from private to public so everyone can access it or update the function getCache to support an array of caches.

I like the flexibility with Custom Profile Fields, which user can enter when he registeres, and later on edit. It would be brilliant if we could get Custom Topic Fields as well, probably per-forum defined, which would extend usefullnes of some forums. Let's say you have a forum, where you sell/buy stuff, and you could easily add PRICE and AMOUT fields to this forum. Would be fantastic :)

How about letting us set a high and low value on the color for the rep (positive and negative sides), where the further towards our highest rep level someone gets the more intense the color gets.

In General Config, the "Website Name" and "Website Address" should have the option to open that link in a new window, or at least have the related setting in "Topics Posts and Polls" control it. I don't know about everyone else, but I'd like to use that spot to link to another site and open it in a new window so you don't navigate away from the Forum.

I noticed that each post in a closed topic has their Reply button active - you press it and annoying Board Message pops up. Can't you guys just disable that button in first place? Thanks.

Actually the template plugin js_module allows to add only js file that have ips. as prefix. Of course us modders can add JS file naming them in this way but people would be confused and think that mod files instead are "official" IPB files. Would be great to have an option to specify to not add the ips. prefix, something like this code: {parse js_module="MY_JS_FILENAME" prefix="no"}

What about IP.Blog/Gallery/Downloads? The release candidates for the applications will be available just a few days after IP.Board's release candidate. We are staggering the releases so bug reports can be confirmed that they are only regarding IP.Board itself. On the final release day, all applications will be released right along with IP.Board. At my forum, we kind of stick to the mantra, that looking better, makes people post better. Part of this, a huge part, is keeping titles nice and clean, free of typos, and extra letters, (not like "omggggggg look at thisssss", in fact that would get someone e-slapped). A large part of this war on stupid titles was inline editing for titles and subtitles. I see that the new forum has title editing, but the description, or subtitle is pretty much set in stone. If you want to edit it, even the edit button is useless, as the title and subtitle are not part of the editable content. The only option appears to be through the moderation dropdown for that topic. Say i were to buy a perpetual license off someone who currently owns one, would I be able to change it so that its in my name and not theirs? What are some of the risks of buying a 2nd hand license?
