  1. We've been using the Bulk Mail tool successfully for site announcements. Previously, we had a newsletter list running through Mail Chimp and want to go to using the IPS Bulk Mail feature only. I've imported the e-mail list into a separate user group that we can select when sending a Bulk Mail -- but I notice there is a widget option for Newsletter opt-in. Is there a way in the Invision platform to offer users the option of opting into a newsletter (or opting out)?

  2. Figured it out!

Currently, we are using oAuth for accounts to sign-in using the info from the main part of our site (not IPS right now but working on changing that). New registrations were disabled. Once I enable all of that, the buttons returned!

Thanks for trouble-shooting with me. I was really confused. 🙂

Would apply the patches which are present in ACP -> Support. Then also save the Administrator permissions that you are a part of as that is really odd that those are gone. Unless someone has manually modified your files to remove those buttons, I do not believe we have an option to remove those.

Thanks for the suggestion. I hadn't noticed the patch. Just installed that and cleared the cache. Didn't change anything or add the missing button, but I'm glad to have realized it needed doing!

Not sure what you mean by "save the Administrator permissions". Do you mean just to go into the member group permissions and hit the "save" button?

Yes, it should.  But there should be more buttons up there as well.

Could contain: File, Text, WebpageAre you using an account that has full admin permissions?

Yes, actually. The account is assigned two member groups right now, both Administrator and Technical Administrator. I just checked in there, and both those groups are listed as unrestricted:

    Could contain: Page, Text, File

We are running three plug-ins, and I just disabled them and cleared the system cache to see if something was messing up that way. It didn't change anything.

  5. This is silly, but I can't seem to find where the option is to import a CSV member list in AdminCP. I've tried searching the Help Guides, and nothing is coming up. I know I'm just missing it, because I've done it before. 🙂

  6. Hi! We've added some custom emojis to our forum, and everything is working great. However, when you are in the post editor and select the emoji button, you have to scroll through a LOT of other emoji options before seeing the categories for the customs.

Could contain: Accessories, Gemstone, Jewelry, Earring, Person, Text

These are the current settings for emojis in the AdminCP.

Could contain: File, Page, Text, Webpage

Is there a way to just show the Classic emojis and the customs, and place the "people", "animals", "food", etc. at the bottom of the list?
    Thanks!

  7. Just popping in to add that I would second this suggestion.

A "save as draft" option would be fabulous, particularly in Pages. We have a database set up for articles, and it would be SO much easier to have a draft option there. Multiple members have to go over articles for that area, so right now, we have to use a private Club area for those members to review and add to articles -- then transfer them into the Pages database.

core_message_posts contains the messages and core_message_topics contains the "containers"

    Thanks for this!
I sent that to the development team, and this is their response.

I can't find core messages topics, and the core messages post it is used to create a new conversation, so Im not sure if this api doc is the latest version

This is the url to the documentation:

  9. Hi!
We're having a mobile app developed for our site. Currently, we're using the messaging and inboxes from Invision for all messages on the site. The app development team is asking where the hitory of PM strings of messages are stored. Apparently, they're not finding it in the Invision documentation given to them. Any help is most appreciated!
    Thanks!

  10. Having asked about this, I'm submitting it here as feedback. 🙂
It'd be great if there was a way to link to the Online Events and/or Physical Events in the calendar. Example: I'm trying to create a button on my front page that leads to just the Online Events in the calendar. If I search for online events only, it brings up results -- but that link only seems to be good for a limited time. It'd be great if there was a permanent URL for the two types of events in the calendar.
    Thanks!

  11. I'm trying to create a button on my front page that leads to just the Online Events in the calendar. If I search for online events only, it brings up results -- but that link only seems to be good for a limited time. If I test the button the next day, all results are blank. How do I find a permanent link to the Online Events results only? Thanks!

Apart from its not showing up whether dates are selected or not, and Im unable to reproduce my end unfortutely. If he selects only "online events" and clicked to search, there is nothing shown either

Yes, they disappear completely, unless just browsing by month.

I will definitely follow up with this as soon as we're transferred to IPS. Really counting down the days to that!!

No problem. Glad to hear you are trying to get everything into one place. Im sure that will serve you a lot better going into the future

Yes, you guys are absolutely wonderful! That's why we're so excited to be getting this done. Really looking forward to the ease of everything on the one platform, and all the great features that IPS offers over our previous site.

It appears to be very easy to reproduce - @PinPics, please correct me if this is NOT what you are trying to report...

    1. Create an event for today
    2. Set the event to repeat weekly, same day, for as long as you want.
    3. Save it

So, you should now have an event that is today (30th Jan) and then 6th Feb, 13th Feb, 20th Feb and so on, correct?

    Yeah ya do...

    Could contain: File, Webpage, Text

    Or do you?

Could contain: File, Webpage, Page, Text

Could contain: File, Webpage, Text, Page

Now try using the search for events on those specific dates. Result:

30th Jan - there it is

Could contain: File, Page, Text, Webpage

    6th Feb - where's the event?

Could contain: Page, Text, FileCould contain: File, Webpage, Page, Text

    13th Feb - where's the event?

    Could contain: Page, Text

    Where's the February events?

    Could contain: Page, Text, File

That is exactly the issue! We have two online events repeating weekly, and that's exactly what's happening. 🙂

I'm going to just input them individually for now, because it works with everything but repeating events.
