Hump Day: farewell 😔
Wishing you the best of luck in your next adventure, @Jordan Miller. I'm helping @Ehren hide the key! You'll never find it here, it's a deceivingly huge country! 😈 It was great to meet you over Zoom and I personally thank you for being one of the deciding factors in my appointment here at Invision Power Services, Inc. I found myself following IPS very closely especially over the past year and the positivity you brought to the community was second to none, and in all honesty, I loved reading your engaging Hump Day topics, blog entries and announcements. Having been a huge advocate for the software throughout the past 17-18 years, I saw (as a regular client) the change you brought here so naturally and the morale you continued to promote, throughout the community and on the team. These are going to be big shoes to fill and despite only being new to the team, I do hope I can have the same sort of drive and motivation you so authentically possessed. I will send you a private message separately but thank you once again for all that you have given me, the community, existing clients, future clients and last but not least, the team. I do wish we had more time to work together but I'm sure this won't be the last time we see you. Once again, all the best in your career with AWS and you know where to find us for anything. You will be missed.

Decrease database size
There may be certain limitations that the original poster is experiencing with the current hosting provider. We can make assumptions, but the request was to try and decrease the database size without having to change the existing plan or hosting provider and this seems to be the best solution unless anyone else can chime in on their experiences.

Need more payment methods
I am also curious to know the needs behind the additional credit card processing options you speak of. Are they requests coming through from your members? Are there certain members with restrictions to using specific payment gateways over others? Just trying to help comb out the necessity in having some of the alternatives you have mentioned added.

Any plans for an app on the app store users can use for our websites?
Anything I can offer that I do myself, I am always happy to share. Where else would you find this sort of information on Discord without having to find a channel specifically related to forum discussion? 😉 I look forward to seeing your community grow with some of the shared knowledge that you can find here at Invision Community, and the endless list of things you can find throughout the internet. It's just a matter of figuring out what works for you individually and for your audience. Some things are simpler than others, but you never really know unless you put it into practice. Try it, if it fails or has little traction, adjust your methods and soon enough you'll land right on something that works smoothly for you.

Any other credit card processing companies supported?
Hi @Mike Gholson, If there are alternative payment gateways you would like to see introduced to IPS, you can suggest them in the Feature Suggestions forum.

There is a topic created discussing Discord's new Forum Channels feature. There are always going to be pros and cons when it comes to these discussions, but you have to really nut down what you want out of your community. If the content you have on your forum is engaging and brings people back, then Discord can be used more like a chat service than a place to find actual content. At least that has been my experience. Perhaps coming up with ideas to redirect that traffic to your forum rather than Discord? Things like announcing something on Discord with a link to your forum, disabling discussion in that channel and indirectly you should find that your audience will go to the forum to discuss it. The more active they are on the forum, the more reason they have to come back often to follow up or engage. I use Discord for four channels, and they are all related to games I play. The chat facility in the games these channels are created for are either very average, extremely limited or time out after ~100 chats, so anything said gets lost for good quite quickly, especially in active periods and in different time zones.

Discord with a new Forum module! Is this the end of the forums?
This is why I think forums will never die. Any forum software had great advantages in the early days, but in my opinion, should not just change to a social media way of life purely to keep up with the Joneses. And I strongly agree that there is definitely still a place for them now. There are always going to be pros and cons regardless of what medium or platform is used, however forums are still the easiest way to find content. I personally do not like Facebook groups despite being a part of some myself, one of which I am planning to create a community for. If you're not checking up on Facebook groups often for example, things get lost in space and you find yourself manually filtering through dozens of posts or clutter before finally finding what you were looking for. The notifications and saving of posts seem clunky and annoying. I much prefer the notifications that forums possess and just the general usage seems second nature to me. Perhaps that's an age or experience thing having used forum software for so many years. Obviously there will be so many people for, against or on the fence relating to this subject. And to comment on Discord specifically, I don't think its solution with Forum Channels will be too much competition for forum software, at least not yet. Good idea in hindsight and it's good to see that they are developing ways to further engage their audience though: credit where credit is due.

Killed my forum Upload folder, HELP!
In my experience with hosts, sometimes they tend to retain backups for several days and not just the most recent one. I know it's a basic question, but have you asked whether they have a backup before you performed the upgrade?

Trying to upgrade from 4.4.6 but getting 2S119/1 Something went wrong. Please try again
Hi @cualupe, You can use the Community Support and Advanced Self-Hosting Assistance forums for assistance from the community to go through upgrading to the latest version of the software. The community here are a wealth of knowledge and I'm sure someone can guide you along the way. Just remember to always make backups of your community beforehand so as not to lose data or break things you didn't intend on breaking. As @teraßyte mentioned above, you also have the option to engage someone to upgrade the software for you, but if cost is a factor, the forums above would be your ideal option. There are many clients who have done what you are doing, and provided you have backups, any big issues are reversible.

Calendar/Events for Online events only ?
As @teraßyte mentioned above, any suggestions for IPS to consider on their software should be posted in the Feature Suggestions forum. It also gives a way for others to collaborate and discuss the suggestion.

Change the owner
I do get your point. It would definitely take a lot of behind the scenes work to enable such a feature, not to mention the work involved ironing out the plethora of issues that would make themselves known. I was more offering to edit your first post with some sort of message to advise your clients (and future clients for the new owner) so at least they are aware that there has been a change of ownership, that's all.
