We would need to look further into this for you, however the access details on file appear to be incorrect or missing. Could you please update these details by visiting your client area, selecting the relevant purchase, then clicking "Review/Update Access Information" under the "Stored Access Information" section.

We look forward to further assisting you.

    Done. Updated Admin CP login.

  2. Just did the latest monthly update. I have a user with a Samsung Galaxy s21 showing template errors and I went to the logs and saw system logs racking up with this.  Screenshot from his phone is attached too. I assume some bug was introduced in the lastest monthly since no prior errors until now?  I have never made any modifications to any of the forum templates from the default btw.

    Please advise. Thanks.

The URL of page the error occurred on was https://www.gripboard.com/index.php?/forum/15-grip-contests/

Are you CiC (hosted by IPS)? Maybe they removed that option to reduce resource usage?

I have no idea. Email was supposed to be there.

Nope. I am on a dedicated server.  I get notifications for new registrations for example. This just seemed to happen recently and I just never noticed yet.  I think it is tied to the last update frankly.  I keep the software up to date as you guys push out the updates.

  4. Call me a sleeper I guess, but I noticed I was not getting emails for when I received PMs on my forum.  I was getting notices for new registrations and I then when to my settings on my own forum and noticed that the option for PM emails is no longer??

When did this get changed? Thanks.

When self-hosting, there are skill sets that you will need to have and develop. IPS offers cloud-based packages for those customers that want a fully managed experience, and alternatively you can develop those skills yourself or contract with a provider to help with these sorts of things.

For smaller databases, this isn't an issue, yet you get the warning you saw when tables exceed certain sizes that may time out. It seems that your install has some larger tables, so brushing up on how to handle this yourself would be well advised.

The alternative is that the upgrader doesn't warn you, it times out, and you end up with issues due to the timeout. These issues vary greatly depending on what MySQL is doing in the background.

For sure. Thanks for the clarification btw.  Next time with such a big upgrade, I will have to learn how to run the queries myself via the commend line for sure. 🙂

Season 4 Michael GIF by The Office

The reason IPS is asking you to run these on the SQL server itself is because PHP-based queries may time out depending on the configuration of your web server, PHP, and MySQL instance. Long story short: do not use phpMyAdmin to do this. Just like IPS, it runs through your web server and PHP. There is no difference between phpMyAdmin and the upgrader.

You should instead connect directly to your MySQL instance via command line to run these queries. Typically, this will involve the mysql command while connected to SSH in a Linux environment.

    https://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/8.0/en/mysql.html

Read that carefully. It does not say phpMyAdmin.

Well, this didn't need to occur thank goodness. However, this is completely unreasonable to think you can have your server admin real time online doing these command line queries and frankly the majority of people are not SSH and Unix/MysSqul command line up to speed to go connect and do this. themselves.  Just my 2 cents.

  7. Was going to finally take the upgrade step and ran into this below. I do know how to pull up PhpMyAdmin and hit the Query tab. I assume the software will tell me the exact query to use and I will then submit it via PhpMyAdmin where I have the arrow in the attached screen shot? I am just making sure I am fully prepared to do this without getting hosed.   Thanks!

    Large Database Updates

During this upgrade some changes need to be made to large database tables. Trying to do this automatically may time out, so you will be prompted to run the queries manually when required. Before continuing, connect to your your MySQL server's command line so that you will be ready to run the queries when prompted. If you are not sure how to do this, you should contact your hosting provider or system administrator for assistance.

The field type is probably set to "Editor", But if this is a field you've had going for quite some time, changing the field type will cause you to lose the data in the field.

I've made some changes to the next version to deal with this, just disable the feature for now.

There might be several reasons. When you write the location, do you get an autocomplete list underneath? You need to select one of them to be able to submit the form.

If you don't see the list, I may need you board URL, as there might be a JS error some where.

Yeah, I just disabled Member Map for now.  Easier. ^_^

  9. Here is what tech support said:

    Hello,

the problem is indeed in the membermap application.
One user has a wrong location which is causing the issue.

    /home/gripboar/public_html/applications/membermap/extensions/core/MemberSync/membermap.php(113): IPS\membermap\_Map->getLatLng('<p>\n\tTest\n</p>')

I would suggest to contact the membermap coders for further support.

Are you sure you've selected the correct profile field to use as location sync? Surely "Youtube something something" isn't anyones physical location.

I don't know what you mean here. I can duplicate this issue on my forum for anyone that has selected a marker. So, it appears someone selected a wrong location and it is causing the issue?

    Thanks.

I think you'll have to add it to the main navigation using the Menu Manager in the ACP.  Then go to ACP > Members > Groups, click the "Edit" icon next to each member group to grant permissions to add, edit and/or delete personal markers.

I only see permissions for Form, Calendar, and Gallery. Nothing for Member Map. No one can edit their location once placed now. Members already gave that feedback and I tested it too and I cannot even edit my location as Admin.
