Nate Sheets reacted to Matt in Has anyone used the Zapier integration?
We were talking with them this week. Our approach is unusual in that there is not a single URL to push data through as its distributed software, so it's taking longer to approve. It's all positive though.

There is no 'fault' - there's just an approval process to go through, and we are currently proceeding through that process now.

They sent me this email in reply...seems pretty generic and inapplicable to what Invision is doing, but just wanted to let ya'll know. @Rhett
Most new Zapier integrations are actually built by the companies/teams that created the apps themselves. Here’s how new services typically get added to Zapier:
https://zapier.com/help/create/basics/request-to-add-a-new-app-to-zapier
Since you’re already a customer there, you also might encourage their team to add their app to Zapier via our developer platform:
https://zapier.com/platform
Requests like this always carry a bit more weight when they come from customers rather than u

I sent Zapier an email begging them to hurry up today. I was assuming this would be ready to go with the release of 4.5: maybe next time don't get our hopes up :P

Another reply from Zapier:
I checked if we had an Invision Community integration but couldn't find anything, so I assumed they weren't building it yet, sorry about that!
I checked our Partners approval queue and I can see that there is a private app for Invision Community waiting for a reply from our team.
I'll make sure to let them know the Invision Community customers are eager to get this out!
Let us know if you've any more questions!

Nate Sheets reacted to Daniel F in Database Information
Our zapier Integration will of course include support for databases, records , comments and reviews.
BTW, you’re already able to use our REST endpoints in combination with Zapier Webhooks to run operations with records, comments and reviews.

Nate Sheets reacted to Joel R in Database Information
The Databases function is more like an Excel worksheet than a MySQL database, if that makes sense. It is entirely a surface / user-level database to input and display data, not anything that connects with a back-end MySQL.

Nate Sheets reacted to opentype in Category vs. New Database
Different databases make sense if you have completely different kind of data sets. For example: If I wanted to create a book database that also stores authors and publishing houses, I would create 3 separate databases and link the authors and publishers from the book database.
Categories make sense if the data is similar, but a structure makes sense for the user and/or if fields need to vary. That book database might have a field for number of book pages, that gets turned off just for the e-book category for example.
Lastly, it can also make sense to not use categories at all when you want to use fields as filters which can act on the entire database, not just categories.

Nate Sheets reacted to Joel R in Category vs. New Database
A single database is easier to manage. But as @opentype mentioned, you only need different databases if the entire structure and fields will be different.
If you need custom layouts, I do recommend @opentype for custom work. He's our community's Pages guru.

Nate Sheets reacted to Ford Doctor in Page Builder Locked Up
Fixed it, but I still would like to know if there is a setting or back-end workaround for situations like this one.
What I did was to add "NoScript" plugin to Firefox and then disabled the script that was causing the issue... it helped to know what script it was but the plugin enabled you to disable all scripts it detects so if you are not sure, that capability gives you the power to eliminate them one by one until identified.
Hope this helps someone that finds them self in the same predicament. 😉
